Do you know about the psych-out game?

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

It's been a heck of a long weekend! I spent Saturday taking the NLN PN entrance exam and today was the TEAS. The competition is fierce for a new program that has started up not too far away from where I live. There are only 30 seats for the 11 month PN and it's an automatic bridge to an accelerated RN program; so you know the competition is fierce.

Some crazy things went on yesterday and today. Here are two of the most interesting. First, a woman showed up late after the doors were locked and the test booklets were distributed. She screamed and screamed about getting her f***ing money back! Over and over again and had to be dragged away by security. Second, a woman was caught trying to cheat on the TEAS! She somehow got her hands on a test and was trying to swap it with the test booklet that had been given out. My guess is that she had the answers all circled and was hoping to just bubble them in on the scantron sheet! They kicked her out of course and the proctor says she will be reported to ATI. I don't know what will happen but I suppose they have her social security number so maybe she can be banned from taking that test ever again? I am not certain if that is how it works so I could be wrong.

There were at least 200 hundred people in the gymnasium taking the test and I had the luck to sit next to a woman who was trying to play the psych-out game. You know the game...when the person only has just as much information as you do but they swear they have the inside track on everything? :rolleyes:They just KNOW for a fact that this school is only trying to get people's money by having them come take the test when they already KNOW who they want for their program. They finish every section first and it's because they KNOW the test like the back of their hand and it's all a snap really. They are so NOT worried about anything because they KNOW it's all a scam really so they are going to apply to x,y,z school because that school is better but they thought they would just show up and take the test to "see where they are at?" (Yes she really said this).

Since these people KNOW so much you would think they would be in a nursing school or already be a nurse.

Anyway, I hope I did well enough to score an interview. Letters will be mailed out on the 30th and if I qualify for an interview it will take place during the first week of December. After that acceptance or (gulp) rejection letters are going out on Dec 18th, just in time to ruin X-mas if I don't get in. :bluecry1:

Wish me luck evreryone and best of luck to all of you and don't go letting anyone play the psych-out game with you.

I hope you did well. Good luck on getting in for that interveiw. Sounds like you had a much more interesting weekend than most of us did. :roll

At least they caught the cheater and did something about it!

Before any tests I go into hiding....it drives me crazy to deal with people's last minute anxiety and panic.

I wish you the best of luck, you probably did better than you thought.
