BSN Question?

Hi, I am interested in getting my BSN, but my question is as I am working towards my BSN can I sit to get my RN license before graduation, like getting my asn but not actually getting it but still working towards my bsn or is one not able to do that and would have to get your asn and bridge to get your bsn? Thank you

Your post is a bit confusing, so I will answer what I think you are asking. A BSN program is four years, ADN in 2 BUT, both degrees only have 2 years of nursing courses. The first years are just completing pre reqs. So basically no. If you go for your BSN you cannot sit for NCLEX RN after 2 years because you wouldn't even be in the program yet.

ADN

1-2 years of pre and co reqs, then apply to nursing program, then if accepted you have 2 years of nursing program.

BSN

First 2 years you have a pre nursing major and are completing pre reqs (can be done and Univ or CC), then you apply, if accepted you second 2 years are your core program.

So at the 2 year mark of your BSN you have only completed your gen ed requirements and no actual nursing material = no RN

You need to graduate with an Associates or a Bachelors in Nursing before you take the NCLEX.
