Biology and Chemistry 101

I be starting General Biology 101 and Chemistry 101 soon and I was wondering if anyone had any tips or advice on how to pass these classes and how to understand the material? any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated, thanks!!!

I really love Bio 101- I LOVED my instructor and he made it simple and fun. I got a B althougth this was years ago when I was still very much a child. I am sure if I would have studied the way I do now I would have aced it w/ flying colors.

I haven't taken Chem 101 but I just started a thread a few days ago called "chem 101, need I say more ;-/" Look off that thread and you should get some ideas on the subject.

One thing people have told me about Chem is that you CAN NOT miss class b/c it builds on each other. I think this with all science.

This is interesting to me. You don't need the chemistry to pass the Biology? I thought that you needed intro to Chem first to do better in Biology. I have been worried because I didn't put a lot of effort into my Chem class... So now I ws worried about passing BIO. Glad to hear it isn't that hard w/o a strong Chem. background!!! :monkeydance:

I'm glad that someone else out there is taking the same 2 classes in one quarter! I did a search on this site & found a link to a bunch of tutorials & such...

hi there missy,

i actually took bio and chem this past spring semester. i was able to pull off a's in both classes.

i attended every class. that's the one thing that is very important with any science classes. if you have to miss a class because of an emergency, that's understandable. see if you can partner up with someone who takes good notes. especially for chemistry.

i work fulltime +....meaning about 60 hours a week and study when i made the time. i actually have a calendar all scheduled out so that i know what i need to do every week. i know it sounds anal but it's what helped me the most with my busy work/school life.
