Applying to OHSU La Grande campus

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hi, I plan on applying to OHSU La Grande campus next year but I was just wondering if anyone who is attending their can tell me what their prerequisite GPA was.

I also want to know whether or not if they finished all their prerequisites before applying or while applying because I hear the applicant is competitive depending on how many prereqs are finished.

Hey there! I am hoping to apply for OHSU this year too. There minimum GPA requirement is a 3.0, which only includes and calculates prerequisite classes. You must have completed 30-45 credit hours depending on what school you do your prereqs at. To apply you have to be finished with at least Anatomy and Physiology I or 231 and Math 95.

Here is there website:

What school are you at now? I'm at PCC :)

Hey I'm actually attending PCC this summer but I'll be transferring to PSU in the fall. Are you taking summer classes?

Yep, I'm at the Rock Creek Campus and I have a full load this summer with 16 credits.

Whst classes are you taking?

OMG are you serious?!? you only need those courses to apply?! Is admission to OHSU competitive? I was looking into their program, but from what I understood you could be in the process of pre-reqs and still apply. I would love any info you have on this program. I live in AZ and am interested in going there

Lol...don't be fooled OHSU is extremely competitive. It's actually rated the number 7 nursing school out of 350. Those two classes are required to just apply, but if you were to apply for this coming year you'd have to finish the rest of their prereqs by spring term in March. They offer a BSN program with a completion after 3 years. I am not sure how your credits would transfer or if they even can from an AZ school. Each state has a different curriculum for their classes, some of which are not transferable. I ran into that problem when I moved back home to Oregon after completing a year at University of Utah. Anyway here is a link to the admissions at OHSU:
