Hello all! Just got my acceptance letter today for UC, nervous but excited at the same time to be going forward in my career! Any words of advice are greatly appreciated :-)

How is everyone who started this fall fairing? Must be super busy I hardly see any comments LOL. My application is in as of Oct 7th. I hope it's not longer than 6wks to find out...OYE VEY! I appled for the May 2014 start which I think is considered Summer 2014 for FNP. Do they email or call or only mail you a letter? Poor post office guy Im gonna be stalking him HAHAHAH! My advisor did say even though the deadline was feb 10, 2014 for Summer to get it in now because they are being bombarded with applications, so if you meet the requirements you get a seat saved for you, since they don't do waiting lists they do defer people to the next starting term. so those that aren't offered Jan 2014, i think by what she said, you will be offered May. Hope to talk to some of you other hopefuls! Fingers crossed I get accepted!!!

I applied for Jan '14 for the AGNP program. Crossing my fingers, waiting for word. From what I understand, an email will be sent with a decision and it takes 6-8 weeks.

Hi Tasha I applied to UC FNP also for Jan but my counselor said they are filling up and I may start Summer 2014 too. Let me know when you hear something :) Hope we both get in. I also applied at Simmons College. The FNP program there is just like Georgetown's program. You should check it out. Good Luck!

CK- that would be awesome to be in the same cohort! =) I replied to your PM also. I'll re-look at Simmons again. It takes 6-8wks to hear back from UC, and my admission rep told me I needed my stuff in last week due to Jan. filling up. I think she said Jan and Sept are the most full, so May isn't too far off from starting hahaha!

I applied to UC at the end of September and waiting for acceptance. I wish I could hurry up and find out decision. Maybe I should have applied to more than one university in case I don't get accepted.

jbwright- that's why I applied to three schools to give me the best chance. I was dead set on Georgetown or UC, but then CK mentioned Simmons and the more I looked into it, the more I felt Simmons is a better option for me! Both GU and Simmons take about 3 wks to give acceptance out, my email from UC said 6-10 wks but that is because I applied for May 2014. I'm sure you will be find to get accepted but I'd rather have a choice of three than nothing =) it was a pain in the butt to apply all those places, but I'm glad I did. Now to sit back and wait...which I'm NOT good at!!!

I'm not good at waiting either! Just hoping & praying I luck up & get into UC. I need a totally online curriculum & somewhat affordable tiuituon. If I dont get accepted guess I'll search for others that meet those criteria.

Yes I too have to do my schooling online, I do not have the time nor the patience to sit in a classroom for hours upon end. =) I love my flexibility. I emailed my advisor at UC and she said that Jan is almost full, so i'm sure a lot of people will be offered a seat for May instead =( which means I'll probably be pushed back a term as well too...UC is my back up school if I do not get either GU or Simmons, I have one week left of waiting on word from GU, and simmons just got my last recommendation today, but still awaiting a transcript via mail. Praying they will have all my stuff in by this Friday to fully submit. I'd like to know before thanksgiving if I've been accepted to an MSN program or not! I need to pre-plan as far as work goes, and if I need to look for a new job PT or PRN, I want to look well in advance so I'm not stressing at the last minute! How much longer do you think you have to wait to find out?

I submitted everything at the end of September. They told it would take me 6-10 week to hear a decision. So anywhere from 2-6 weeks! Seems like forever. I thought about GU or Simmons but i think those had tuition around $50k right?

Simmons is roughly $57K, all online except for ONE campus visit, but they offer a full time 18mo program that is identical to Georgetown U's program with the synchronous and asynchronous classes (which is what I want the most), GU is closer to $80K (I didn't get accepted to GU, just found out on friday) and UC is roughly $36K, no campus visit, but no online face to face classes either which i would feel better having for my learning style! =) I think I should know something from UC the end of nov through mid Dec, but hoping to hear from Simmons by the end of Nov as well =)

https://gradapps.uc.edu/GradCheckMyStatus/ this is the website i was given to check my status, however, nothing really shows except that all recommendation letters were recieved then under the other screen all the little boxes are checked "yes", but there is no date as to when it was fully submitted...i will say trying to get ahold of the adviser with UC is a nightmare and can be a week or two before they return calls/emails, which i can't stand. I applied for May2014 due to being told Jan fills up very quickly and they have a higher amount of folks that apply for Jan and Sept the most (seems to be the trend for most schools I noticed). UC is my third choice but i'd like to know where exactly i'm at in my 6 to 10 wk waiting period...sigh..I might possibly be on week 2...Tasha

Keep us posted! Will watch the boards to see if you get in! Fingers crossed!!! Im hoping to apply for fall 2014, I will complete my BSN through grand canyon university in may.
