FNP syllabuses and book names

Hi all, Chamberlain nursing just started their Family Nurse Practitioner program. I have taken some MSN courses online and they have been a little bit challenging, but the courses I'm really concerned about are advanced pathophysiology, advanced pharmacology, and advanced health assessment. Preferable, I would like to look at the syllabus and the book before I take the course. So.... Chamberlain has not held their first advanced patho, pharm, or assessment classes yet. If you have gone to a different school and have taken these advance classes, would someone be willing to send their syllabus and the name of their books to me? Your help will be greatly appreciated.

Have you already taken NR-504 Leadership & Nursing Practice: Role Development? I'm in that class right now. I talked to the counselor and they said I still have to take NR-510: Leadership and Role Development of the Advance Practice Nurse. They sound almost the same. Even their course description is almost similar. I don't want to take this class again. Do you have to take NR-510 even though you already took NR-504?

I had taken the NR-504 class it is different with a different focus. So it is a lesson learned.

But it is worth it.I was in the informatics track and got a job in informatics and have been in that job for 8 weeks now. I am transitioning back to the bed side due to not being happy and also I have transitioned to the FNP program.

I live in FL, and see this is an approved program here. It is CCNE accreditited correct? Do you only take one class at a time? Has your financial aid covered all the costs so far or are you paying out of pocket? My husband is a retired vet so i saw I'd get a lower per credit rate and a waiver of the application fee. I just worry that their FNP hasn't been around very long, will that hurt me when trying to find employment after school? I received my AAS from Excelsior in nursing, and am currently finishing up my BSN from Excelsior as well, so I have no issue with "distance/online learning" and in fact prefer to work by myself....thanks for any info you all can provide!

The fed loans i have gotten has covered all of my cost so far. As for this program i have no idea about problems later. So far chamberlain has a good name for it self so who knows. In the end with all the changes in health care and the decline of Dr's going in to family practice the job market are only going to get better. In the end if you pass the certification test at then you are at lest certified.

Hi scrubing77. I just sent you a PM. Thanks.

Also considering Chamberlain FNP. I live in florida and there is a chamberlain in my town, but I have not really heard of their reputation beyong "list" online when you google. , admissions counselor said they have placements at really good locations like Cleveland clinic, etc. I wish more current students would post their experiences. these boards are full of people asking.....all asking the same question!!! Hey students...throw us a bone....tell us what its really like! thanks!

I live in FL but ended up going with a "regular" university so to speak, I chose and was accepted to Simmons college, I plan on updating on here about the school once classes start in March. =)

I live in Florida also and I attend Chamberlain. I started their FNP program last session. I am really enjoying the program and fill like I’m learning a lot. If you type in Chamberlain FNP in the search box you will find reviews that some of the students made about the program.

Do you know how many hours you can transfer in, did you have to take both classes?
