Rush University CRNA Interview

Nursing Students SRNA

Published

Hello everyone,

I have interview coming up next month for the CRNA program at Rush University...I was wondering if anyone had any advice or tips for the interview? What kind of questions should I be ready for? What's the best way to prepare for the interview? Thanks in advance for all your help!

I also have the same question as Goldenatom?

Specializes in Critical Care.

Good evening! I have the same questions and the post above mine. I sat for an interview with FIU and NorthShore and they both did a mock scenario. At FIU I had to identify the rhythm on the monitor and tell them what I would have done. It was a classic PE scenario. I didn't get into the programs because I didn't have my CCRN and my GRE score was 298 and they both wanted a 300. This was a couple years ago. Hope this helps!

I posted my question regarding interviews in December of last year and did not get a single reply, So I would like to pay it forward to all all the people (friends, co-workers, randoms, etc.) who helped me during the interview process by answering your questions regarding My interview experience.

I did decline my seat for a program that will provide me a better clinical experience than Rush but I can still answer your interview experience questions. I remember coming on here before the interview and feeling so frustrated when I couldn't find much info about Rush because of the fact that they are so highly ranked in the nation yet, not much info about this program on allnurses.

Feel free to PM me or post on here...

Why do you feel that Rush doesn't provide good clinical experience?

I would like to know what your thoughts are as well?

Gassy2be- it seems like you and I are in the same boat! I am so conflicted and just don't want to make the wrong decision if I fully decide to go with RF.

I have been stalking this site like crazy looking for info about RF and I am pretty convinced however, I just don't want to be left with any what ifs!!!

I am thankful that I've been accepted multiple places but I sometimes wish I was only accepted to one place so I wouldn't be in this situation! Deep down I know where I want to go but seriously making the move to decline is a little hard!

Definitely in the same boat! I can't believe I got in to three schools. I applied to multiple places hoping I would just be accepted to one! I would go with your gut; it's usually right haha. Obviously we'll be fine at either place and are super lucky to even be having this problem.

Do you have any idea what your going to do? I don't know if I should wait out the 2 weeks I have to pay the rush deposit to give them my answer or call them and let them know this week.

Well you're already committed to RF, right? I wouldn't waste more money when you pretty much have already made your decision. I'm pretty much 50/50 haha. My fiancée is basically the one making the decision because it's based on where he has the most promise for a job, so we're figuring that out. I'm fine with either place.

Gassytobe & Sevo Flurane, Sorry, didn't realize you both had replied to my comment. I actually work at Rush, I float to all of the ICUs including recovery which allows me to interact with a lot of the SRNA's. I have been told by many of them that the residents trump them on getting better cases and are pretty much left with the easy left over cases and feel that their clinical experience isn't strong. Feel free to message me if you have any more questions.

Thanks for replying, I also heard that as well from friends. But I already accepted at Rosalind Franklin! What have you decided Chicago?
