Western University of Health Sciences FNP 2014 Fall

Nursing Students Post Graduate

Published

Hi,

I wanted to start a new thread for Western University of Health Science FNP 2014 Fall. I couldn't see anything for MSN/FNP so I decided to open a thread. I applied as well and anxiously anticipating for the waiting game. If anybody applied for this one, chime in and share anything you know about admission status, etc about this school, just anything :)

In my opinion when a person gets, an acceptance letter that means everything was checked and verified so a person should be in the program. Of course pending medical stuff, because that cant be determined during the application process. In the acceptance letter it stated admission was still contingent on academic requirements (Prerequisite) before they make me pay $150 to hold my seat, the school should have figured that out with my transcripts. If a class is missing or not accepted they should make the person aware. I could of misunderstood, but I still e-mailed them to make sure before I pay $150 thats non-refundable. I know it's a lot of money for the program. I will accept my seat only if they take off the housing fees they add to the cost, due to it being an online program and I don't live on campus. If they take that off, it makes a big difference and worth it.

There are housing fees? Can you tell me where to see that? I would be commuting also

I am sorry it's not called housing fees, its called living expenses they charge $20,498.00. If I attend online I shouldn't have to pay living expenses or transportation. When attending on the weekend they make you pay for your own hotel room, food, gas, etc.

Any updates on the living expenses?

I got accepted as well but after looking at tuition I decided on CSU Long Beach. Good luck!

Are you able to work full time while attending at CUS-LB?

Hi Everyone!

The living expenses/transportation are a rough estimate of how much you may need but you can opt out of receiving that money if you do not need it. In other words everyones financial situation is different so they calculate how much you may need. Some students strictly rely on loans for everything because they may not have a job or the necessary means to pay. Therefore for them those additional funds are available. Basically, you borrow how much you need.

Mrs. RN 99-> You are correct you pay for your own transportation/ hotel room etc. during seminar weekends. They usually provide lunch:)

Hi everyone,

Does anyone know someone who is in the program or completed it? The seminar weekends are mandatory but what happens if you have to miss a day?

From what I understand, one can not miss a seminar. I recently spoke to a student who completed the program in June and "come hell or high water, you attend."

Hello everyone, I am interested in applying for the MSN/FNP at Western University. I haven't really come across too many forums regarding this particular program. Is there any one out there that has graduated or is currently in the program that can share what their experience has been like and if they recommend it?
