University of Washington DNP Program

Nursing Students Post Graduate

Published

I am planning to apply to the DNP program at University of Washington for Fall 2017.

Now, I'm trying start my application.

Do you guys have any tips?

Thank you!

Hello everybody! Let's keep this thread alive.

I just applied to the FNP track. I know it is very competitive. UW is my top choice too. I've heard that UW has the best DNP program. Hopefully we all get accepted.

I don't think they require experience, so for those people who don't have any experience working in a clinical settings don't worry.

I wish everybody success. The long wait starts...

Has anyone called to find out how many people applied to each track this year?

Who do we call to ask how many people applied in a specific track?

I've applied for the UW DNP program as well; for the mental health/psych track. I'm anxiously waiting to hear back! I've only had my BSN since 08/16, but I got my associates RN back in 2015 so I've been working full time as an RN since then. I hope my 1.5 years experience is enough! I was also an LPN before so I'm not sure if they'll count that as nursing experience as well. I got my BSN from UW and would love to go back for my DNP! Good luck everyone, please let us know when you hear back!

I remember reading on another thread that someone called UW's SON office and asked how many applicants had applied for specific tracks.

Yes, if anyone called the UW admissions office, please let us know! ;)

I'd especially be interested in the applicant pool for the AGNP-AC track, that's the one I'm really hoping to get into :)

I wish they provided a status update on their admissions page- some years UW did that (looking through the allnurses threads for previous application years).

Anyone else applying for AGNP-AC?

Carolyn C has been a great resource! I have attended a few of the info sessions. She's the director of admissions. Maybe someone can contact her?

Hey all! I also applied to the Fall 2017 DNP program, but for FNP track. I'm SO ANXIOUS to hear back, I hear that the acceptance rates for my track is about 1/5. When do we hear? And is it by email or snail mail?

Telise25, I believe it is by snail mail and then the application status is later updated on our UW accounts. I had also heard that about the FNP track, but that was based on other years' applicant pools. More or fewer may have applied this year so the odds may be different.

The waiting is killing me. I'm so anxious to hear back from them. I hope we all get in the program. Sending positive thoughts to everyone.

ME TOO. Ahhhhhh! March can't come fast enough. I applied for the adult-gero primary care track, what about you

Also does anyone know where we would be able to see any updates on their website? I see references to them on past threads
