UIC Graduate Entry Program

Nursing Students Post Graduate

Published

Hi folks,

Thinking about applying to UIC's GEP program. Anybody here applied and was accepted? What were your stats?

My stats: 3.2 Overall GPA/3.5 Sci BA in Sociology. Office Manager in home health care, tech in a medical equipment co, medical assistant (no cert) in dr's office and later office manager there. Volunteering in Nursing Home around 120 hours...

From what I can tell on their website, after completing the NCLEX, you immediately start the master portion of the program. Is this correct?

check your emails... I won't be joining you all unfortunately :(

I got waitlisted =( I guess i wont be joining you guys either. Congrats to everyone who got in! I will be attending DePaul's Masters entry Program instead (unless I get a call from UIC-which is unlikely)

Me neither. I am shocked. I wonder how many psych people they let in. I don't think it could have been 12.

Looks like I didn't make it either....

I am so sorry for everyone who didnt get good new;-but we will all make great nurses some day! For those who got waitlisted like me-do you know if we could call to see where on the waitlist we are ranked? My letter just said waitlisted; and they would call me if a spot became available.

They must be emailing by specialty because I haven't heard anything for Peds.

I'm playing the waiting list game with two other schools currently, and it's my experience that they won't give you a rank. At most they might tell you if you lie in the top ten or if you reasonably have a shot.

I'm so sorry to hear this news for so many of you. I thought everyone was very qualified on here, and jmonkey is right, we will all make great nurses some day. It's not the end of the road unless we let us drag it down.

Marquette here I come.

I got wait listed as well. :(
