Any UCSF Mepn Applicants?

Hey MRLD, I'm another who was accepted into the mental health focus. I am in the Integrated Psych CNS/ANP track. I heard (through the grapevine) that there were "8 good candidates" in the psych specialities. Not sure if that means first choice only or also inlcuding the alternates. I'd love to meet and begin the carmaraderie of incoming MEPN students. I'm already in SF.

Did you interview with the first or second round of applicants?

Hey all,

It was really great to meet Healthmatters and to realize that MsnasMHA and I met on interview day. Sweet!

We should do something again soon. Should we start a gmail group for the incoming MEPNS? I can do that if you guys want. It's just nice to have some communication and camaraderie while we're all figuring out funding, housing, blah blah blah.

Hi everyone! I'm new to this thread...wow it's looong! ...and very informative.

I will be applying to the MEPN program for 2009. I applied to UCSF (my only nursing application) 3 years ago, and didn't make the cut. Now I'm trying again with a lot more experience, a lot more pre-requisties, and some serious dedication to getting into nursing school. This is my BIG year for nursing apps, and even though UCSF is the holy grail of them all, I'm determined to get into the nursing profession somewhere...

I'm a certified massage therapist, and recently started a massage therapy internship with the hospital where I've been volunteering the past two years. As you can probably guess, I'm all about the ANP-Integrated Complementary Healing track.

I really look forward to working through this crazy process with all of you wonderful hopefuls!

Also CONGRATULATIONS to those of you accepted to the 2008 class. I hope in all the crazyness of your first year, some of you will stop back in and give us some updates!!

Welcome! I think the thread has been going for several years.

I friend of mine is an massage therapist who subsequently did the MEPN ANP program. He now works in primary care with HIV+ adults.

Good luck on the process. It is long and hard but it does not last forever...

Hey, has anyone else heard anything new? Any movement off the wait lists?

I hope everyone is doing well. A few of us have been talking about the paperwork, etc for the incoming folks.

Just moved to SF. It's a foggy, foggy morning, but I have my coffee so life is okay.

June 23rd is the date, I hear!

Hey Star77...I'm wondering as well. I'm #2 on the Waitlist for the ACHIN specialty and I've heard nothing. Still keeping my fingers crossed...but not betting on it. To be so close is torture! Has the school given more updates as to dates and events?

Yeah, stuff is still coming in. A lot of us got our User IDs and stuff. I need to check my mail today. There's a lot of vaccination records and things to do, like CPR renewal (or class) as BLS-Healthcare provider, immunization titers (varicella, Hep B), etc.

Haven't heard anything direct from Finaid yet.

Good luck with the ACHIN! I was in the office the other day, and if you haven't heard that a specialty has closed, then it's still possible. :)

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!
