Its funny you ask me this today...2 weeks into the semester and Ive yet to find a clinical site. So I am one of those ppl in danger of not graduating. There are plenty of sites to go to in LI area but I live in the Bronx and can't drive

That's a terrible situation---have you tried networking with NP's in the NY State NP Society? They have NYC chapters. Their website is: www.thenpa.org I just joined myself. Also, have you tried contacting the Education Dept of NYC hospitals?? I'm hoping you find something soon--let us know how you progress. I am considering attending SUNY SB on-line, but I also live in NYCity----are you in the Family NP program (for which they have closed new admissions)? Your experience is making me think I should attend an "on campus" program with its own clinicals here in the 5 boroughs of NYCity..... Thanks for any advice you have and good luck.

Thanks NYforlove, yesterday I found 2 potential preceptors at the last minute and will be starting clinical next week. The Stony Brook DSL program is a good one, having to find your own clinical site/preceptor is what is most stressful about the program. I suggest contacting NPs way before clinicals even begin to help alleviate some of the stress...
