Waiting for Drexel's orientation information

Twelve weeks until the Spring 2009 ACE program begins!!! (If the Drexel calendar is right, at least).

I'm somewhat frustrated in the lack of information. My goal is to quit work at the end of February, and take a vacation in March. Still no word on the orientation. No idea what I'll have to do between orientation and the start of the program (first aid classes, criminal record checks, etc). So, I'm frustrated because I can't schedule a vacation (buy airplane tickets, etc). It is something I'm looking forward to, but hate being left hanging.

Does anyone remember how soon before their classes started that they got information packets, or when the orientation was (a week, 2 weeks, a month?)

Or, even better.. Has anyone gotten the orientation info already, and cares to share it? The waiting game is killing me!!!

For the registration form, fill in your name, address, & phone number, then sign the next year of your life away at the bottom. You'll get your schedule a few days before classes start. For the drug screen, call a local Quest to find out the details (not every lab does them & some require appointments). They'll send the results directly to . Have fun at orientation & get some sleep while you still can!

For the immunizations, do you need blood titres or are records of vaccinations ok? I got a generic welcome packet that has immunization info in it, but I wasn't sure if it'd be different for nursing students.

The nursing information came out and had the exact same form... plus another PPD form (that was the same info..but wanted it filled out on a different sheet) I understood the titer and vaccinations to be required... vaccinations to vaccinate and the titer to verify - but that was how I read it from there form.. :)

Recorded immunization shots are okay, just get your doctor to fill them out. For things like Varicella, my parents couldn't remember whether I had it or not, or whether I had vaccination or not, so I had to get my doctor to run blood titers to confirm, and that was the result recorded on the form. So if you have your shot records, just get a doctor to complete the forms, and you will be okay. However, PPD has to be done unless you have a chest X-ray done for TB within the last year or so...then I'd call up , you probably could get away with that result.
