Villanova - PLEASE ANSWER

U.S.A. Pennsylvania

I really want to go to Villanova for nursing - I would be a transfer student and will apply to their alternate curriculum program. My only dilemma is that I can only afford it if I have an ROTC scholarship (which I know I am eligible for) but in order to actually get the scholarship I have to pass a physical and medical examination which requires me to set that all up well in advance to actually applying to Villanova (the application deadline is March 1st but I would have to start setting up the ROTC stuff now) so I really need to know if I have a chance of getting into Villanova - does anyone know how their admission process works? Do they only look at GPA? What would a competitive or acceptible GPA be?? What other things do they look for in an applicant?

If anyone knows anything about Villanova (even if it is just something you heard from someone) please let me know. Any help is appreciated :nuke:

I am in the same situation except I would like to do NROTC !

I am currently attending Rutgers Newark and would like to transfer to Villanova [i was accepted but I thoroughly thought money would be too much of an issue]

If anyone could help us with this and give us an idea about our credits transferring over, we would appreciate it so much !

Hi! I am also applying to the alternate sequence curriculum as a transfer student. Do either of you know whether our applications are considered separately from the applicants that already have a bachelors in another field, but are applying to our curriculum - not express?

I didn't even realize that the Alternate Sequence program meant we were going to be in the same cohort as the existing BSN students entering their 3rd year. Did you ever find this out? I remember reading a thread stating they only accept 20 or so students who have an existing Bachelor's. Do you know if this is true?

Did anyone end up applying for this Fall's Alternate Sequence program? If so, have you heard anything back yet? I'm sitting here on pins and needles waiting for a respone

I received my acceptance letter about 2 weeks ago - but I also applied as an undergrad transfer as opposed to a second degree applicant so I'm not sure if that matters. Has anyone else heard back??

oh really? was the deadline also Mar 1st for you guys? If not, when was the deadline and when did you submit your application?

Our deadline was March 1 as well and I submitted my app at the end of January. I was told that the undergraduate admissions combined with the nursing school would make undergrad decisions and solely the nursing school for the other applicants- I'm assuming that is the reason for the delay. They're very helpful if you e-mail them though - best of luck!!!

So I found out that there were 80 applicants and they accept about 15-20 students typically

I also applied for the Alternate sequence and havent heard anything back as of yet. But at the open house they did say acceptances will be sent out in April. They only have 18 slots and returning Villanova students get first preference. Good luck to all and if not this time try again and dont forget the bsn express program holds more slots.

The BSN Express program does hold more slots but if they're not offerring admission to any Alternate sequence program applicants to the BSN Express program..right?

No you can still apply for the bsn express. Just make sure you have as many prereqs completed as possible and the deadline is oct 1. The Bsn express requires more prereqs than the alternate sequence so you might want to look on the website to see the additional courses. I hoped that helped. Good luck
