Villanova BSN Express

U.S.A. Pennsylvania

Hi,

Is there anyone who is applying for admission for May 2009? Is anyone currently attending the program?

Hi,

I went to Villanova for my BS and the housing in the area is pretty pricey, especially if you are thinking of living alone. It is much more affordable if you have roommates, but I guess that applies anywhere really.

The last I heard we will be notified of their admission decisions by January 1.

i got rejected. pretty upset about it but i have a few prereqs to finish. they offered me to be considered for the following year, do they say that to everyone? i guess im just gona wait to hear back from other schools

HopefulABSn10 - so sorry. Maybe it is just that others were further along with their prereq. Have you applied to other programs - or Jefferson? Don't give up.

Hi guys,

I was accepted into Villanova's BSNExpress. Has anyone else been accepted?

Hi Blondie,

I was accepted too! I was so happy about it and I love Villanova... but I'm thinking it might not work out for me because of the timing. I'm getting married May 1 (can't be changed at this point!), and I still have to take the pathophysiology and two theology/religion classes. I could take the two theology/religion at community college and Pathophysiology at Villanova, but I feel like I'll be killing myself and have finals while I'm supposed to be on my honeymoon (which is already booked).

I'm so upset about it. I really wanted to go there. Now I'm waiting on and Jefferson. I'm feeling like Drexel fall entry will work out best, but I can't get an answer from them yet! As for Jefferson, I've kind of given up on that. I was waiting on recommendations and ended up not sending the application until the third review period. Blah.

Anyway... if I get into Drexel, that's where I'm going! If not I'm gonna have to kill myself and make this Villanova thing work.

Sorry for my rant, ugh!

Hey, do you know how much are the rents for 1 bedroom apt? Have to move there by May and I'm kinda of lost :(

Thank you,

Mona

Hi Mona,

When I lived in the Villanova area, I lived in a house with 3 other girls in Bryn Mawr. We each paid $500 a month plus utilities. Home Properties is an apartment complex in the area. There is one in Bryn Mawr and a 1 bedroom is about $950 a month. There is also a Home Properties in Devon (a little further away) that is about $750 a month, and another in Conshy. There are many other complexes and areas a little further away that you can rent for cheaper prices.

Good luck!

Thank you so much for your help. There're very expensive!!! I'm just waiting to see where am I gona do my cliniq hrs and then I can start looking for a place. Hopefully, I can find a good deal, I would rather live somewhere close to the school, since I'm not very fimiliar w/ the town!!! Again, thank you so much. Good luck :)

For those of you doing the Villanova Alternate Sequence, how do you plan on paying for it? Two years and a summer session at Villanova costs upwards $80,000. With cost of housing and food, I'd probably be looking at +$100,000 of debt after the two year program. I plan on pursuing a master's after getting a BSN, but with that kind of debt I don't think I'd be able to afford it.

How is everyone else paying for the program?

I'm doing the express program, and planning to get loans and maybe scholorships. It's only $32,000 for the program plus housing and food. I'm assuming $10,000 for housing and food so total of $42,000 loans for a year!!!

Good luck,

pamkc12,

Have you decided what to do (considering your timing problem)? Are you going to go to Nova?

Mona82,

Are you definitely going to Nova?

I think I am!!!
