So who all in here is applying for St Margaret trying to get in for Feb start?

Already got application in?

Already heard back?

I only just got my application in this past week, so obviously haven't heard back?

If anyone has applied and heard back, how long did it take to hear?

haha. ive been good and not been ever since i found out that the committee wasnt until thursday....but yesterday i sure was. tomorrow I wont be, part cause I know it couldn't have gone in the mail on Saturday, but also cause I'll be in school at the time :lol2:. But tuesday I know that I will be.....wont be able to help it. Hopefully comes Tuesday so I can quit stalking the mail man

Letter finally came and I'm in :hpygrp:

awesome!!! I have been waiting to hear!! I was off work today because I went to a CNA training open house. Might quit my current job, (Non nursing related) and start CNA.

CONGRATS TO YOUU! I can't waittt!!!! I hope I have mine tomorrow...surely it shouldn't take until Friday to come to Butler County from Pitts.

So what is your next move now? I am assuming you got your Feb start? Was it a big envelope with stuff in it or just an acceptance letter!!

Glad your wait is over!!:yelclap:

Oh and talking to the guy that I know, from what he was telling me the Feb class is almost full from this group....30/36....then they will be admitting for June. I told him I knew one person from this group was going for June and he said from what he knows, your letter will probably say you are addmitted for Feb, and you will just have to contact them to let them know you want to start in June, unless you changed your mind

I wished I didn't have Microbiology to finish in the Spring or else I would go it Feb. Not sure I want to take that on top of Nursing School.

Was just a letter stating you are accepted and stating what all you need to do to maintain acceptance (what classes need to be completed and by when, that have to get background checks and drug test....all that fun stuff). Also a paper you have to sign and return with $200 acceptance fee, saying that you understand everything you have to do to maintain acceptance and are accepting the spot in the class. That needs to be sent back by mid Oct (probably before the Oct committee meeting so that they know how many spots are actually free)

Well if your admission is for Feb until you get that changed, you do have a couple weeks to consider it. Would make for a busy semester, but would get you done with nursing that much sooner. But I guess that comes down to knowing yourself, how you are as a student, especially with sciences, what else you have going on while in school, like family commitments or work. I do know it is doable. I took Micro this summer (double paced) with a girl who started St Margarets in June, so she was taking both, and micro at a double pace at that. I also took Micro the same time as AP 1 and english.....busy summer but only way i could get in for Feb. Also are you someone that would be ok if you only finished Micro with a B or C, or do you have to have that A(not saying not to aim for an A, but if you would be absolutely stressed over a B should you have to sacrifice a little micro studying to do well at nursing). If you aren't going to have any major commitments outside of nursing school, and would be ok with letting micro slide to a B or C if you have to focus more on nursing classes, would definitly consider it. If you tend to struggle with sciences or have to work full time also, then deffinitly not worth trying to rush it. But a night or Saturday micro could deffinitly work.

Oh just thought I would let you know, I was looking at the student catalog for St Margarets and once you complete Basic Nursing II (second term.....so august for feb start, next december for june start)you are eligable to take the CNA test with American Red Cross .....not sure how long it will take and how much it will cost you to train for your CNA before nursing school....might be worth it, might not, i dont know......just thought i would let you know cause i spoted that and i know you had mentioned it.

Thank you so much for all of the information jguy!! I appreciate it!! I will think about this whole Micro thing!

I haven't had too hard of a time in my A&P so I don't think that I struggle with the sciences, but yes I will have to work while in NS and I do not have children but a husband. LOL!! He is very supportive and helps out though, so in my case he is a great help and not a burden or a downer on my dreams!!!

I wonder what color scrubs St. mag's makes you wear? I sure hope it's not white! I saw some nursing students today when I was at the open house for CNA and saw some BC3 students whose scrubs were dark blue! That would be cool! :-)

Again, congrats!! Can't waittttt until I know for sure and I hope that my letter is the same good news that yours was!!!

Thanks, again!!

sorry to say, but it is white :( I am so not looking forward to that. Will be investing in some white shirts to wear underneath, and see if can find some white shorts.......or at least white boy short underwear......lol......look in the humor forum under ugly uniform thread.....some horror storys some people have af coworkers that thought it was "cute" to wear colored/patterend underwear under white scrubs

My friend got her "acceptance" letter today! I will have mine tomorrow. I work until 5:30..UGh!!! This is how the mail worked for our PSB RN results. I got my results the day after hers....so HOLD PLEASE!! LOL!!! And her letter did say "June 2011"!!!!

This a bit late, but I just wanted to congratulate my fellow nursing students for acceptance in Feb. 2011. I've been watching this thread and finally decided to make a user name. I applied in July and received my letter in August. SO, very excited for Feb. Looking forward to meeting everyone.
