LOL glad you got it figured out!

I went & got my physical today and went downtown to drop my stuff off, but u forth dryly there was a power outage & I wasn't able to drop it off. So I guess I'll be going back down tomorrow. At least I'm all finished (well after tomorrow when i drop it off) and now I can relax till orientation!

Well I'm all done! I turned in my papers yesterday and picked up my scrubs today! Now I can relax until orientation :)

In just a few short weeks, we'll be embarking on one of the toughest, but rewarding chapters in our lives!!!

I just finished my first nursing semester with a high B in lecture and an A in lab. =) It was not easy but doable. Big word of advice read the ATI book along with the chapters 20 people failed the ATI test the first time and had to retake it after their final. Can you imagine the pressure. I think only a few got kicked out after they failed it the second time. It's so sad to lose them. Just take the ATI seriously... I wasn't sure how I passed it let alone got a level 2 because it was hard. Not trying to scare anyone just read the book. Good luck =)

Just wondering if you guys can give me an idea. I'm going to apply for the fall 2013 program but do you guys think I even have a chance? I currently have a 2.8 and I did complete a&p1 with a b so I get to add on my .5 , so 3.3. I'm going to take a&p 2 in the spring and hopefully micro biology in the summer so I'm hoping to raise my gpa however that won't help when I apply now. What do you guys think?

Im also applying for the fall semester, but I talked to a lot of the people in my A and P 2 class that applied for the spring start and they said it was kinda crazy as far as acceptance goes. Most had the majority of their pre-reqs done and others had very few done. It's really hard to get a straight answer from anyone as far as what their GPA was because it seems like everyone inflates by a few points. So my best advice would be to apply and hope for the best, and if not you can re-apply for the spring semester.

It's hard to tell with all their rule changes. Some people who you'd think would definitely get in didn't and there were some with less points that did get in. All you can do is apply and hope for the best. If you're pressed for time on getting in, I would also apply to hospital programs too, just in case you don't make it into CCAC.

I applied for Cal as well and go into Boyce day. I live in Rostraver township so it's quite a hike for me as well.

What option are you in? I am in the second option!

Hi everyone! I got accepted into the Allegheny day program and was wondering if anyone got their "nursing shoes" yet, since it says we're only allowed to have "nursing shoes." what do yours look like/where did you get them, etc.? there's so many different options and I don't know what to buy!

I'm in Agh Day too! I haven't bought shoes yet. I'm going to wait till orientation to see what they say. The nursing handbook (found online) just says white shoes. I believe we can wear white tennis shoes and don't have to buy "nursing" shoes.

What clinical section are you in? I'm in 21A.

I'm in 21C. Did we ever find out where our clinicals are? Haha, it says on my schedule online "Allegheny Hospital Site," but I'm not sure if it that means Allegheny General Hospital or just Allegheny campus..
