Best Hospitals in Philadelphia for a New Grad

U.S.A. Pennsylvania

I was wondering if there was any input about the best hospitals for new grads (BSN) to attempt to work at in Philadelphia? Is there a certain hospital which new nurses should strive to find employment at? Which have nurse residency programs? Which offer the best working conditions for nurses? Best pay? Benefits? Tuition reimbursement or special program for going to grad school? I understand the job market is still bad and there are a lot of nursing schools in Philly, but what hospitals would be the ideal hospitals to work at after graduation?

The job market in Philly is absolutely rough, and a lot.of schools is an understatement. The ideal hospital for employment as a new grad is at any place willing to give you employment. Google will answer a lot of your questions about new grad residencies and tuition reimbursement.

This.

Most hospitals have new grad residencies; the best thing to do is apply and go from there.

Like they said, anywhere that will hire you.

If you have not graduated yet, I would try to get a job as a CNA or a tech in a hospital prior to graduating. I just graduated in January and the only people who have jobs yet are those who know someone willing to help them get a job, or those who already worked in a hospital. The market is soooo saturated here that it seems the only places that will hire you without experience are in Reading, or are nursing homes. I do wish you luck in your search!
