Abington Dixon School of Nursing

U.S.A. Pennsylvania

Hi all,

Wondering if there are any applicants to Abington Memorial Hospitals Dixon School of Nursing for the 2011 year?

I originally applied for 2010 early decision, but ultimately was placed on the waiting list. Because I wasn't accepted for 2010, I now have to re-take A&P 1 & 2  (past the 5 year mark by 2 months on A&PII). I have all of my stuff in for this years early decision and have decided to re-take the teas test.

i'm very bitter about not being accepted because i can't understand why. I had a gpa of 3.8 and my teas scores were good enough for early decision. my only negative comment from them was that I could do a bit better on the math portion. I have been at Manor College since Spring 2010 and am currently holding down a 4.0 GPA- if they don't accept me this year I think I will just go absolutely crazy!

Just wondering if there are any others out there in the same boat....

Congrats on getting in!!! No letter for me today! Maybe tomorrow!

Congrats! Mail hasn't gotten to my house yet so I won't know until my mom gets home. We'll see, keeping my fingers crossed!

That could be a good sign but I just want to know already!

Got my letter and was put on the waitlist. I'm really sad but maybe I will get in if someone doesn't accept....

I got my letter todat and was also put on the waiting list. I spoke with Admission asking them to explain the process. She stated that they will call those who file is complete from the waitlist once students decline there offer. She told me that if I could attend during the day they could offer me a spot much quicker?

I wish I had a letter! I need to wait another day! It's killing me!

Well I would be willing to switch to days if it meant getting in quicker. I don't have everything completed either though. I'm taking two classes right now to finish up. I'll be done them by May.

I wish my schedule (work) would allow me to switch to day class at DSON but I am not able. After speaking with Angela she stated that they will begin the calling process probably within a few months?

Well I work a full time job right now during the day but I was thinking of being a certified nursing assistant and thought I could do nights to do the day program. A few months would give me time to finish Chemistry and the Lifespan course. I'll keep my fingers crossed I guess! Worse comes to worse I'll have to try for next year. I still go to Montco and I'm a nursing major there so I could always stay there as well, I just liked Abington's program better. It has more flexibility.

I thinks things are going to work out well for us as for as getting a spot for this year. I am praying and keeping my finger crossed that they will call to offer up a spot for the weekend program.

I think so too. I have a friend whose sister was put on the waitlist and she was accepted two weeks later.

Thats good news! Hopefully that will happen for us.
