BSN nowhere to go?Register Today!
- by MS_SUNNYSIDE Jun 13, '12Hi everyone! I need some advice, word of encouragement or anything to help.I am a foreign grad RN-BSN. My first nursing job here in the USA was a staff nurse at a long term rehab for children.. (2006-2009). Then my husband and i relocated few months after my daughter was born. I was able to find a homecare job (pediatrics)which is so flexible that really helps. Year 2012im still doing homecare, but i want to grow and learn more, career wise. I tried to look for some jobs in the hospital, but was so discouraging after few interviews, they're looking if i have acute care experience. Which i dont have. Its so frustrating to get into the hospital, considering im not a fresh grad. What would be the best thing to do?
- Jun 13, '12 by watersamySorry to hear that you are having a hard time getting into a hospital setting. You're not alone. There are literally thousands of experienced RN's looking for work right now. Its a sign of the times. Hospitals are cutting back and hiring is frozen at lots of places. Don't give up. Keep looking, something will come up.
