PCT job interview

I applied for a job as a PCT last Wednesday and I got a call from the Charge Nurse from the unit inviting me for an interview on the same day. I had the interview yesterday and I think it went very well. She told me that I would be a perfect fit for her unit, that I had all the answers she was looking for, and that she would contact HR and that they should be giving me a call next week. I've never had a job where HR is supposed to contact you, so does that mean that I will be told whether I got the job or not when they call? I know it seems like a silly question since my interview went well, but this is new territory to me so I'm not really sure what to expect.

In most places, HR is the one who will contact you to offer you the job or to let you know they hired someone else. The nurse manager (or whoever interviewed you) just gives the go ahead to hire.

Within most hospital systems, the nurse manager or charge nurse who interviewed you is the one who recommends you for hire if the interview went well.

On the other hand, HR staff typically contacts you at a later date with the actual offer of employment. HR also communicates information regarding the incidentals such as background checking, drug screen, and potential start date.

I just got hired for a CNA job at my local hospital. When I had the interview the person who interviewed me called me first to offer me the position, and after that I got the call from HR with the details, but I know every place is different. Good luck!
