Hey all,

Anyone else applying for Fall 2015 BSN program at OHSU?

I am getting my application together now, but I wont be able to finalize or submit it until after December when fall term grades are posted. I am only applying to OHSU, specifically the Monmouth campus. I currently have a 3.93GPA and after Fall term I will have all but two prerequisites finished. The remaining two are Writing-122 and Nutrition.

I think I have a pretty competitive application but there is still a lot of doubt.

I have experience working in long term care and also as an EMT in an under served rural community. I know I will also get extra consideration for having already taken Microbiology.

I know we are still months away from interviews or acceptance letters but it would be nice to get the conversation started and get to know others who will be applying for 2015.

Hey! Just reading through this and curious if you ever found out about your math 95 being calculated into your GPA? I have a B, also, and it brings my GPA down a lot... it's my only math as of now.

Math 95 will count if it is the only math class you have that qualifies for the math requirement. If you've taken a higher-level math, then that will count, instead.

I had been communicating back and forth with someone from OHSU about a few different questions I had. One of them was about math95 and this is the response I got "Math 95 is not calculated into your pre-req GPA. We only check to see that it was completed with a C or better."

Hey! Do you mind me asking what your schedule is like with the program? I know it can vary but I am just curious what a typical day might look like hourly?

I am currently working on my application for the 3 year OHSU BSN program to the Ashland campus. I am so excited to finish this process. I am a student at PCC, and have completed most of my pre-req courses there. I have a 4.0 gpa, but I did receive an A- in my first term of spanish when I attended a quarter at University of Oregon. I am not sure I should add this to my application on Nursing CAS, because the website marks this as a 3.7, lowering my GPA. What do you all think I should do?

I am taking chemistry so this should help my application. I will also take microbiology spring term, but I only have about 150 hours of volunteer experience, so I do not have much more to add to my application other than my gpa.

I am nervous for the interview and proctored essay, but I suppose we will all cross that road when we come to it!

It is my understanding that you must add all classes you have taken to your NCAS application. However, only the courses that you have on the prerequisite coursework form will be considered for your prerequisite GPA.

Ive got a question for everyone

I have had all my previously attended schools send off transcripts with the nursing cas transcript request form. This was two or three weeks ago. How do I know that NCAS has received and processed my transcripts? Do I need to wait until I have some sort of confirmation before I am able to submit my application?

I am almost through with my supplemental essay questions. I also need to scan and upload my prerequisite coursework form as well as my work experience form then I can submit my application. I am just worried about submitting prior to getting notice that my transcripts were processes.

Thank you for answering my question. That clears up the application process for me a lot.

I do not think you have to wait for a confirmation or anything. I checked the OHSU website and if anything is incomplete on your application, they will work with you to finish it. That is one of the perks of turning it in early. So if I were you, I would submit the application once you have finished the supplemental questions and the prerequisite coursework sheet!

I need to get working on those things!

If you read through the FAQ on CAS it says you can submit your application before they receive the transcripts! I haven't ordered mine yet and I am VERY nervous!!! Eeek. My college is closed until after the new year! I hope it doesn't take too long... also I'm pretty sure you will be alerted when they have been received.

Yeah, you have to add each and every class ever taken. I don't know how an A- took you to a 3.7? Also, any classes taken Spring term wont count towards this year's application process. Just FYI.
