OHSU Fall 2015 BSN

U.S.A. Oregon

Published

Hey all,

Anyone else applying for Fall 2015 BSN program at OHSU?

I am getting my application together now, but I wont be able to finalize or submit it until after December when fall term grades are posted. I am only applying to OHSU, specifically the Monmouth campus. I currently have a 3.93GPA and after Fall term I will have all but two prerequisites finished. The remaining two are Writing-122 and Nutrition.

I think I have a pretty competitive application but there is still a lot of doubt.

I have experience working in long term care and also as an EMT in an under served rural community. I know I will also get extra consideration for having already taken Microbiology.

I know we are still months away from interviews or acceptance letters but it would be nice to get the conversation started and get to know others who will be applying for 2015.

I'm applying to the Accelerated BSN program and just ordered my transcripts too... here's to hoping they get them soon!

Hey all,

I'm in the process of applying as well! I'm currently torn between selecting the La Grande campus, or my home of Portland. What about you?

Hello all. I submitted my application last week for the monmouth campus. I am a bit nervous because my plan was to take Developmental Psych winter term. Winter term also happens to be my first term at WOU and I discovered that WOU requires Psych 201 first, whereas my previous school did not have that requirement, so I will be taking Psych 201 winter term at WOU and Developmental Psych spring term. Other than that, I have a 4.0 in all of my pre-req courses. Hope everyone had a great New Years!

Is anyone else having trouble with the supplemental essay page. I can only type 350 words for the first essay question. The rest of the areas where you are supposed to type your short essays are not letting me type 350 words and in fact will only let me type to the end of the line then I have to manually tab to the next.

My understanding is only the first essay portion is 350 words, the remainder of the questions are simply short answer. I.e..one to three sentences. Hope this helps!

Thats what I was thinking. How the used the word "Each" at the top of the short essay section just threw me off "Short Answer Essay Questions (limit each response to 350 words):"

I am just finishing up my app. I will be uploading my prereq coursework form, course description, supplemental essay questions, and work experience. Am I missing anything? I feel like there was more I needed to do, though it is possible that my mind is playing tricks on me.

Ditto!! That sounds right!! I am so excited to get it all sent and even more excited to find out if I got in! :) Good luck and keep in touch!

Both very different!! I would do some research on the pros and cons of both! ;)

Hi everyone,

I am going to be applying to OHSU's portland campus! I have my associates from Clark College in Vancouver and all but one prereq done (Anatomy) and am currently at the UW. I also have around 350 hours of volunteer work, and microbio and chem are completed! My pre-req GPA isn't the best (about a 3.7) and I'm super nervous about applying! Does anyone know what they base a lot of their decisions on? Is it mostly GPA? Supplemental questions?

I feel as though, at least with the Monmouth campus, GPA and supplemental essay questions are just what get you in the door so to speak. At the Monmouth campus the process seems to be two step. After you submit your application they choose a group from those applicants to interview, from those interviews and additional proctored essays they choose the cohort.

Thanks @MotoMonkey! Since you're pretty close to having your application done, do you know how long it takes for the NursingCAS to put your transcript information into their systems?
