Is anybody else thinking they are going to have to leave the state in order to get into a program?

Oh yes and one last note. I currently am taking microbiology....which is one of the main pre-reqs I believe. Would I have to wait to apply since the course finishes in December or can I apply now?> thank you soo much for your time!

Hey armada, I think the start date is totally up to their discretion and I have no idea what they base it on (anyone, please correct me if I'm wrong). There are no dorms, but lots of apartments nearby. Craigslist could be your friend in this situation. Would you be moving from far away? Their website should say which classes you absolutely need to have finished at the time of application. Sometimes it's just listed as how many credits you have to complete (typically 30 of 45 or something like that) and not just specific classes (excepting A&P).

hello jimithing112! well I recently discovered their school and am trying to get as much info as possible. In my case Im currently taking microbiology and will be finished in December. I would like to start at that school sometime next yr if possible. I live in Los Angeles California, so out of state is general is very far for me lol. Thanks for the info! il check their pre-req page again for any side notes!

Gotcha -- don't rule out the other OCNE cc's either -- there's 3 in the Portland area alone, and a lot more throughout the state. Same program, different perks. Check out http://ocne.org/schools.html and compare their applications. Good luck and don't hesitate to ask questions on here. I got a lot of good information here. :)

i'll check those out soon too! would you happen to know of any good BSN schools around too? I unfortunately alot of the schools out here in cali I cant apply yet because I do not have organic chem under my belt, just the fundementals of chem

As far as I know, you don't need o-chem. I'm in an OCNE program and I never took it. The OCNE schools are all BSN programs if you choose to go the 3rd year. Check out: Linfield (portland campus), University of Portland, Clark College (BSN through WSU Vancouver), OHSU...there's probably more I'm not thinking of. At this stage, google is your best friend.
