what kind of nursing position would you search for if your experience is in the OR? I lost my job back in February and cannot find a job in another OR. I am lost, what would any of you do? I wouldnt even know what to do if I were to be a floor nurse. Thanks in advance.

Oh that's terrible :( I wouldn't want a floor job either. What about pre-op?

You could try Endoscopy . Same basic skills needed or so I've been told. Might find a surgeon who could use a private scrub. At the hospital where I worked we had a lot of nurses with ER background come to the OR. not sure if the reverse would work but you could try.

Pre-admission surgical screening for elective procedures, PAR, endoscopy, surgical floor on the ward :yuck:

I'm not sure I follow your threads. In one you have a job and now your NOT working?

Are you working or not? Unfortunately if you burned a bridge at one hospital system tha rules the town it doesn't matter what dept you go to, the HR has your file. All you can do is move if there are no other options locally.
