I personally have not, but several RNs and surg techs at my facility have. The only stipulation is that once someone leaves the facility, they are not permitted back in the role of sales rep for one year. I would imagine many if not most other facilities have a similar policy. As for other roles, RNs can get additional training and become RNFAs. Another option is staff educator, which depending on job requirements may require an advanced degree.
Of course it is possible! Do some networking with the reps that you deal with daily. Ask them how to apply and if they are hiring. I often have them telling me I should be a rep because "that's where the money is" but was never interested.
