Hi! Is anyone else applying for Western U's MSN-E program? I hadn't seen a thread out there yet for fall 2017. I'm a little nervous about the cost of this program. What are your thoughts about the program, cost, structure, time of completion, etc?

I am applying!

it seems very expensive! I haven't submitted my application yet because I'm eating on my last letter of recommendation to be submitted. Kinda stressing about it cuz it's something that's out of my control.

Yes, the recommendations are the most stressful part due to it being out of our control. I tried to send reminder emails until all of mine were submitted. I'm sure yours will be in on time. Another stressful part is waiting for everything to be uploaded to your file. My application has been complete and all materials received since August. The waiting is now driving me nuts. I'm a little worried about the cost and the fact that the program is 3 years, but it seems very convenient. And I do like that you would be graduating with a speciality. Good luck to you!

I've been searching for other schools to apply to. I'm thinking about applying to the University of Arizona. I'm trying to decide if I should apply to BSN programs or just MSN since I already have a bachelors. As of right now Western is my first choice, but I'm going to find a few more. Are you applying to any others?

Check out bestnursingdegree.com it will list Entry level MSN programs by state. :) you can also apply for ABSN program. Idk what state you are from but there are several in CA. ABSN programs are my plan B ;)

yes i have applied to other schools too. I applied to Samuel Merrit and San Francisco state.

Did anyone else see the new extension date to November 1? I was going to turn it in, but decided to wait to make some final touches haha.

Yeah! I was stressing out too, but when I went on:

Apply Now - Master of Science in Nursing - Entry (MSN)

It said extended to November 1. They didn't even announce it through e-mail or anything.

I submitted my application on September 16th! My account already says that all application materials have been received so I am hoping to hear back soon on when my application will be under review. I wish I knew earlier that they would be extending the deadline so I could have had more time working on the personal statement questions.

Yeah, I just saw that they had extended the deadline till November 1st.

The funny thing is the exact same thing happened last year too and it was extended the day before applications were due! They should put November 1st as the original deadline date if it happened last year too, aha.
