Hi all,

I've decided to go ahead and start this thread for those who are in the process of applying for the HIGHLY COMPETITIVE nursing program at TWU (FALL 2017) Feel free to share your STATS, questions, and good vibes as we're all here to get accepted!

I'm personally interested in the Night/weekend program since I already have a bachelor's degree and I just finished my TWU application (since TWU requires you submit a "new student" application first, then the Nursing application) I am planning on submitting my nursing application right after I hear back..

I also have not yet taken my TEAS, but am in the process of studying for it to take in a couple weeks!

How's everyone else doing?

I have a feeling they'll only send that info out after the deadline to accept. They did say wait for other emails after that date.

Does anybody know when we have to get our tithers/immunizations, background check etc done by?

Hey everyone!! I am currently a J1 at TWU- DALLAS and I wanted to say YAYYYY congrats to everyone who was accepted! It's a tough journey, but SO WORTH IT! If you have any questions about the program I would love to answer them for you! I will be an orientation leader for y'all on May 5 (I think is the set date)!

GET YOUR VACCINES DONE ASAP!- Wait til as last minute as you can before the cut off to get your TB test so you can limit how often you need it in the future for compliance. YOU WILL LEARN ALL OF THIS SOON- it is so overwhelming but I hope I can help you :) I wish I had a helping hand when it all first started!

Stop freaking people out. They are going to send us our new admit packets in a few days, and everything will be in there. Also, you will not need most of your shots if you get titers that show immunity. We don't even have access to the system to upload them yet. Take it a step at a time. They will give us the information.

If you are wondering someone posted a link at one point to the page with the list. Also google search TWU Nursing Immunizations it should come up.

There is a HUGE power point you will get that has everything outlined. I wish I could remember them all! Start finding your childhood immunization records NOW! If you can't find them or don't have them or aren't sure GET THE TITERS YOU NEED ASAP those take forever. The titers verify you are immune/not and will tell you if you need to be revaccinated!

it states all the immunizations we need, though it makes me nervous as some of them require a month between each vaccine and we need them done by the Fall.

Exactly you'll get it all! I was just outlining a few basic things you NEED TO KNOW ASAP. I wish someone gave me a kick in the butt to get stuff done fast so I wasn't rushing.

Don't be afraid to ask them questions! Everyone is there to help you succeed :)

I had a total of 61 points, Prior Bachelors, No TWU Bump, 3.8 GPA, and 84% on the TEAS!
