Hello,

My name is Stephanie and I was recently accepted into the nursing program at Touro college in Brooklyn, NY. I will be going in as a transfer student since I have a degree in Biology. The reason why I'm here is because I wanted to know if anyone had any information on the program. I have done a lot research, but the program itself is still pretty new and I wanted to know a little bit more about the program at this school and about other people's experiences. Thank you.

Hi Stephanie Congratulations! Did you apply to the BS program? how long did it take for you to receive an acceptance letter? Do you mind sharing your credentials? I am applying to them. Actually I am going to their open house this evening to get more info on the program so if you have any questions maybe I can help answer them for you... I wish someone who attended would provide some input about the program there seems to be more info on the campus in Nevada.

Hi Chris. I applied for the AAS/BS dual degree program since it was recommended to those who already have a degree and I can take the NCLEX-RN after before I finish the program. I applied in Nov and received my acceptance letter at the end of Jan. I have volunteered in a lot of hospitals, have a certification in CNA and EKG and a few publications. Not sure if they're that picky but you should apply early. I'm a bit curious about the program since its very new.

You already have a bachelor's? If so you should of just applied for the bs program. I went to their info session and learned a lot. I like the school it's very clean and it seems like everyone is willing to help so students can succeed

I am currently in the process of applying now. Are you starting this Summer or in the Fall? I am also very interested in the program, and hope this thread proves helpful. Congrats on your acceptance, I hope to have mine soon.

Bryant87, the BS is suppose to start in the Fall semester. Which one are you applying for, the BS or AAS/BS?

Chris B718, I did apply for the bachelors, but I applied for the dual program not the traditional one BS. Are all of the classes going to be offered in Brooklyn?

If you have a bachelor's already there's no need to do the dual program. Yes all the classes are in brooklyn

ChrisB718, Stephanie applied to the correct program because even though she has a bachelor degree in biology, she still needs one on mursing. Nursing bachelor classes are different.

Stephve, most of the classes are in brooklyn. There are a few bachelor courses (I don't remember which ones) that are in the manhattan campus. Two friends of mine are in one of those classes and they have to go to the city. The regular nursing classes will be in the brooklyn campus. I was accepted last fall for the same program, I couldn't start nursing classes though cause of a few classes I needed to finish up first. This September I start with pharmacology and fundamentals. The school itself i think is really good, and the staff is so nice.I've heard the program is really tough though Because they teach you for the test mainly, which is great. Good luck!

Hey Alex06! Do you have a degree and were all of you classes transferred? I've taken every single one of my prerequisites except for nutrition. I'm really hoping they take everything, but I won't know until orientation.

I do not have any degrees yet cause I found it pointless for me personally. They took 30 of my credits out of about 47 (mainly cause those 17 were only classes for that specific college I went too). Alot of people I know there already have a bachelor degree and took then with no problem.

When is your orientation? In the summer? That's when mine was last year. I really like tbe school cause its small and you can't really get lost Lol.

I found orientation to be really helpful. They had given us a binder full of information and talked to us about it and the second day we got our degree plans (like the classes you need to take and when they could be taken) which I thought to be extremely helpful, so I'm not lost all over the place haha

That's really good. Im hoping the take all of my classes. My orientation is in July. Super excited about it. And the fact that the school is small makes me happy cause I went to Stony Brook and their classes are big.

That's when mine was too last year! I was excited as well. And I'm still excited, especially since net semester I start with real nursing classes. Maybe we'we'll be in the same classes if you start with nursing classes too!
