St. Paul's School of Nursing Spring 2018

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

So I'm applying for the (January 8th) spring 2018 semester. I went to the information session today and I'm taking the wonderlic exam on Friday. Anyone else applying for that class?

How was orientation for everyone. I enjoyed meeting our professors. Btw idk if the SI school had their orientation yet but heads up, drive or bring a big bag to carry all your books and uniform. All they gave were plastic bag which aren't enough to carry those books on public transportation.

I was pretty happy with orientation a lot of the things they said about the clinical times was the first time I've heard it but I guess a lot of scarifies will have to be made. Yeah there were a lot of books and my plastic bag ended up ripping as soon as I stepped out the school. Good thing I drove lol. I'm so excited and nervous. We already had our first reading assignment from the nursing professor, which I started (trying to start on the good foot)

Hi, I'm interested in applying to the Queens campus and would like to know what was the application process like? Thanks in advance!

1. Schedule an appointment to visit SPSON

2. It will be a group orientation telling you about the school and the program

3. Pass the Wonderlic test (50 questions 15 mins "IQ" test).

4. Pass the HESI entrance exam (basic math and english).

5. Wait for the acceptance call/letter and they will schedule another appointment for you to meet someone from admission.

6. Sign a bunch of annoying paperwork and get your medical form filled out by physician

7. Meet the president

8. Another orientation, but more in detail about the courses for each semester. You will meet the faculty members and other SPSON staff.

9. Prepare yourself before the first day of class.

For Queens do it as early as possible. They fill up very fast. Good luck

thanks!

@keepingfaith1224 are you currently in a student in the program right now? If so how'd you like it so far?

Yes I am and I am at the SI campus. Queens was full. I'm just starting on Monday but I will say that this school is for someone who is very strong willed and very determined. I noticed a lot of disorganization but my goal

Is to be a nurse and a nurse I will be no matter what hurdles I have to face. Good luck

First day of classes tomorrow, good luck to everyone. Hope to meet some of you guys at the queens campus!!!

Hello everyone,

I just got accepted into the May 2018 program and I am have such mixed feelings after reading a few of these comments. Can anyone who is currently attending or has attended tell me how they like/liked the school? Thanks in advance!

I just got accepted also! Do you know what the next step is after they call you?

Hey! So i got a call last week and we scheduled an appointment to go over financial aid stuff and some paper work. I had to do a drug test as well. Are you for day or night classes?

Did you have to interview with anyone? I am not sure yet I think I'll probably do day classes, what about you ?
