SFSU vs. USF BSN Nursing Program

Nursing Students School Programs

I am in desperate need of some advice. I got accepted to USF's BSN program which is quite an accomplishment for me so i feel very thankful. I was waitlisted on the SFSU sequoia program, but I didn't even consider that as an option. I was set on USF because it is a great program on its own and I thought I didn't really have a chance to get pulled off the waitlist at SFSU/Sequoia because my grades are not top notch. Just a few days ago, God had showed me another miracle when I got an email that a spot opened up for me at SFSU/sequoia! Now I face this dilemma...

The most important factor for me is that USF is 3 1/2 years, incredibly expensive, and I start clinical in spring 2017 (taking general ed for fall), whereas SFSU/Sequoia is 2 years and I can start in fall 2016. This is important for me because I am very eager to get started on being a practicing student nurse and I'm even more looking forward to working as an independent one. I live in Mtn view and my grandma is in SF so housing is not an issue.

However, I did hear a lot more praise for USF's program. And that they have a lot more preceptorship hours. But I'm not sure if it's THAT much better that it's worth paying $70k more for the entire degree. SFSU/Sequoia is a great program too and they have only 32 students in a class which is a major plus for me.

Ultimately, I feel it's up to the student to put themselves out there while they're in school. I think I can do this in both schools and end up working my dream job one day as a knowledgeable nurse.

Any words of advice would be GREATLY appreciated!!
