Roll Call: For 2013 RN-BSN students at Walden U !!!

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hello, I'm excited to be starting @ Walden U 3.4.13. I thought it would be fun to do a roll call and for us to support eachother throughout the program. Start by stating how long you've been a nurse, specialty you are in, why BSN is important to you, how are classes going so far and feel free to add anything else. I'll go first.

-I've been a nurse for four years, 3 years LPN and one year of RN. I've worked in LTC, ICU and school nursing. My goal is to land a job in postpartum, this is my dream job. Getting a BSN is important to because I do want to be up to date with EBP and it seems that hospitals and facilities are requiring RNS to have BSNs. After my BSN, I plan on getting my MSN in education ( Lord willing).

I start on 3/4 and I'm totally overwhelmed already. I have printed out the syllabus and assigments and some of the articles to try to prepare for monday. My biggest challenge will be writing papers so I'll be spending alot of time in the online writing lab.

Anyway, once again I'm excited. Hope the program goes by fast.

Wishing all of you the best.

Hi, How's your class going?

I am planning to apply to Walden, but I am little scared and excited, because I really hate to write papers.

So far, so good Thank the Lord. I finishing up my prereqs now and start my core nursing classes this Fall. I'm excited !!! Writing papers is still my biggest challenge. I just take one assignment and paper at a time.

Specializes in Emergency Room, Hospice.

I've been at Walden since 3/4/13 also. So far the classes are OK but I think a lot of the paper writing is more concerned with APA format than with actual content.

Otherwise I like the courses and I am starting Pharmacology in a week. I'm really looking forward to it; it's one of my favorite topics.

I just finished my first nursing course! I start my next class in a week which is another fine art. After that, I'll be completing the rest of my nursing courses. I am taking a LOA after November until April, until I can afford to pay for the rest of the classes.
