Rasmussen or Galen College of Nursing

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hello Everyone,

I just finished my AA degree at PHCC and I'm considering two different Nursing schools, but could really use some feedback regarding which school you think is the better between or Galen College of Nursing.

Thank you in advance.

Galen is sacs accredited, I don't trust Ramussen's accreditation so I would go to Galen. Someone working at the VA hospital for a long time as a PCT graduated with their RN from Ramussen but the VA would not accept that person as a RN because of their accreditation . I know someone who finished Galen with their RN and is now currently working in a hospital

the VA will only hire nurses who graduate from a school that is NLN accredited (NLN has a new name now but I can't think of it). Neither college has it but Galen has applied-no results yet.

Not arguing your info however Galens website specifically denotes the Florida Veterans Department.

"Galen and its individual programs have met the educational standards for approval, licensure, or authorization from the following state organizations, unless otherwise indicated."

I wonder what that really means
