PLU ELMSN 2018

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Just wanted to start a thread, it was really helpful last year while applying (I got waitlisted but wasn't selected). Anyway, it was a great way to keep each other updated with how the process works and when interviews/selections/emails started to come from the school, a nice sounding board for going crazy with impatience waiting, waiting, waiting. I am applying for the 2018 entry into the ELMSN program at PLU and hope to submit my app within a week or two.

I haven't heard anything yet. At this point, I think it's clearly that my likelyhood of getting into the program is impossible. Has anyone waitlisted yet?

I haven't heard anything either, but I'm still holding out hope. If they had finished all the acceptances and waitlists, then surely rejections would have gone out, right?

They said by the end of february and we're not even a week in yet, so I'm carefully (and firmly) holding onto the optomist side of things.....or at least that's what I keep telling myself

I'm going a little crazy not knowing, I so want to call but I have nothing valid to ask. I'm trying to keep in mind that they are notifying really early so a lot could still change. I've been doing pretty well up until now but I'm really starting to get anxious.

Well guess I was right to be anxious I got my denial email today. Thought I would at least be waitlisted since I was waitlisted last year. Good luck to everyone who is still waiting!

Just got my denial too @smcshane....damn. I didn't have the 10 year qualifications that some of the other pepole accepted had listed, but I still thought I made a strong candidate.

Congrats to everyone who got in though.

Did you apply anywhere else WonkaBar?

@smcshane I did - TCC's (tacoma community college) regular RN program, and it was the only other one I applied to. The other community colleges wanted you to be a CNA and well (me being a former paramedic apparently didn't count), and I have a family so applying anywhere I can't drive to is out of the question :(

You?

As an aside now I'm terrified of not getting in, though I suppose I'll just keep applying places until I finally get in. I just want to be a nurse!

No, I only applied to PLU which I regret now. I will apply again next year and also to Seattle U and maybe tcc, thinking about the OTA program at Bates too.

Have you thought about uw's accelerated bsn?

I have! When I looked at it previously, I hadn't finished pre-reqs yet, and thus couldn't apply. Now that I have, I'm definitely going to be applying there if TCC doesn't pan out.

You?

Hello,

I have appreciated everyone keeping me updated throughout this process, so I wanted to make sure to let you all know that I received my acceptance letter this afternoon! I can't wait to meet my future fellow Lutes in June! (ahhh June!)

I also just received my acceptance letter from PLU.
