Hello everyone,

Has anyone got accepted to the May 2017 ASD program for OU? How about any earlier programs?

I wanted to start a new forum about this and ask whether or not anyone has taken the patho, nurs informatics and pharm at OU yet. If you have, how was it taking that class online? Were they fairly easy or what?

Also, I would love to connect with current and former and new students (i.e. those accepted for the May 2017 program) regarding the ins and outs of the program.

I was also wondering whether or not scholarships for the program were available to ASD students and how would one go about applying for them.

Hey I'm applying this Summer August 2016... How was your application process? Was there an interview? And how long was the process from when you applied and found out you got in? Thanks for the insight!!

Hi there,

So glad I found this post! I got accepted June 2016 for May 2017 ASD start. Very excited and nervous at the same time.

Currently I am taking NRS 221, 227 and Psy 225 ( did micro over summer). Are you taking 227/Patho online right now? Let me

know-love to hear your thoughts!

I'm in the third semester in the program. If you guys have any questions let me know!

Quick question-I assume you took pathophysiology online....who was prof? Having a hard time with out any lecture attached to the course, wondering if it was the same when you took it. Basically, posted PP and reading/self teaching makes for very difficult learning of important subject.

I had Sally O'Meara. It's brutal online, pharm is the same way. I think they may be trying to change it because other profs in the program are getting frustrated as well as the students with us not knowing anything from that class. I made it through okay because I took patho at MSU and learned a ton. They wouldn't let me transfer that class in and I had to retake it at OU and learned nothing.

I have JoAnn Kapa, I am so frustrated because there is no lecture associated with the course. It's just posted power points and you fill in the pieces with your reading (LOTS of it), a hw paper due once a week and weekly, timed online exam/quizzes so basically you're teaching yourself and trying to get lectures online that can help explain things. It's super hard when you can't hear things explained-any suggestions to get through it? Problem for me is I want a good grade but more importantly I REALLY want a solid understanding of this and it seems impossible when there is no lecture to explain the topics. Ahhhh

Congrats! I applied for the September 2017 class. My deadline was this summer for the application Aug 2016. How long did it take for you to find out that you got accepted into the program?

My application deadline was April 2016 and we found out middle of June-

Good luck!!:)

Hi there,

I too have just started the online NRS 227 course you are registered for. It would be great to start some sort of study group or at least have one another's contact information to help get through the semester. It's a lot of material to learn online without lecture help. How are things going for you?

I seriously can't believe this class is only offered for ASD online-it seems WAY too important to conduct without a lecture, or at least a lecture online. I don't know about you, but I am frustrated because I really want to get a good understanding for this and I spend so much time reading then I search for videos online that can further help me understand things. I would love to get a group together so we can help each other out...I am also taking 221 and psych 225 right now. Are you in the ASD or regular BSN? How the class going for you?

It's a ton of reading and pretty indepth material. I feel as though chapter 1 was a year of biology class in a chapter!!! I wonder if there is a lecture we just audit at school to help grasp the content on a better level? I would be happy to share my contact info. so we can start connecting about nrs 227 with Kapa and nrs 221. Who do you have for that course?
