NCTC ADN Fall 2013

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

I'm going to Gainsville next week to apply for the ADN program and was wondering if anyone else was looking to do the same. I live in Lewisville, so Gainsville is quite a drive, but I'd be willing to car pool! Has anyone started to study for the Kaplan? I need to get started on that since the test is scheduled to take place at the end of June. Good luck to all of the applicants!

I am in the Wed clinical group and I live in Fort Worth, which is about 1 1/2 hour drive. There is also a student from Irving in my group, as well as several people from Lewisville. Most students that live in Denton are either in Thurs or Fri clinical group. I heard that they do try to accommodate students with childcare needs, but I'm not sure how that works.

We were told we would have to go to our clinical site the night before to choose a patient, but luckily our instructor is awesome and understands that a good handful of us have to commute to school, so she doesn't have us do that. But we were told that other instructors in later semester may have us go the night before.

Hi everyone!

I'm about to finish my pre-reqs at NCTC for the BSN pathway, but had a question about electives. On the list of courses is says 2 hr minimum elective, but I see there is no list of what counts as an elective.

Also as far as taking a humanities/philosophy class goes, does it matter what we take? Such as (the ancients or human rights)? If someone could please help me with that I would really appreciate it!

Thank you!

If you go to this link, NCTC - Associate Degree Nursing Program, and scroll to the very bottom of the page you will find a list of courses that meet those specifications.

Thank you so much! As far as a 2 hr elective, do you know what courses could meet that requirement?

I'm not sure about a 2 hr elective, I don't think I've ever seen a 2 hr elective offered, but if you choose one of the 3 hr electives on the list then you should be covered :)

Ok! Yea I seen it said 2 hr minimum, and I was thinking the same thing. I don't think I've ever seen a 2 hr elective. Where can I find the list with the electives listed!? I have no clue what courses count as an elective. :)

For those who took the Kaplan entrance exam, was there a calculator available? Thanks!

Hopefully you got in to the program! If so, are you able to work? Im planning on applying for the fall of 2014 and have a am a nervous wreck!
