Nashville State Nursing 2013

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hey everyone, I just received a letter from Nashville State for an interview for nursing. Just wondering if anyone else has gotten a letter or has already been through the interview process. I'm hoping I get accepted for the Fall 2013 nursing program. I'm very anxious!

Did anyone else see the message from the former student that ended "I hope they go down in flames" I reported it as abuse because I'm personally sick of seeing people be so rude. I work with a NSCC grad who graduated in the first class and she is a fabulous nurse. My motto has and always will be Education is what you make of it.

I did see that last night. I wondered why it wasn't on here this morning. Some people have bad experiences and they don't want to take responsibility. I just brushed it off

I saw it too. It was disgusting. Thanks for reporting it!

I saw it, too. I almost responded but held my tongue. There are those that screw up and then want to place blame. I'm sure there was much more to that story.

Thanks for reporting it.

@Cindy, so did St Thomas hire your friend straight out of nursing school/post NCLEX? Just wondering if they give new grads a chance or if it's the typical "two years of exp. preferred scenario"? Or did he/she already have connections there?

Se was hired straight from school after passing her NCLEX. typically for SCU or ICU they ask for 2 years of experience. You can do a med surg unit right out of school though. She excelled during the peer interview and had previous experience at the bedside. It takes a lot to get hired to ICU right out of school.

Has anyone else started searching for shoes, stethoscopes, etc..?

I've been asking around at work about the stethoscope. Litman is supposedly a great brand. They run about $100 for the "classic" style. How much do you think we will be spending over the summer?

Is there a "specified" shoe? Yeah, I'd like to start buying little by little so it doesn't hit me all at once. What does our uniform look like? Do we have to wear one of those "nurse hats"? I have seen some around on campus but wasn't sure what school they were representing.

I already have a stethoscope and shoes. Littman is the best! You can hear so much better with a littman. Do we buy our own uniforms or do we get them from the school?

I saw it too. It was disgusting. Thanks for reporting it!

What did the post say?

Did anyone else see the message from the former student that ended "I hope they go down in flames" I reported it as abuse because I'm personally sick of seeing people be so rude. Hi ms Morris

What exactly did the post say from the Nscc graduate? My class was an amazing group and we all worked very hard to reach graduation. I have no doubt the person you work with is a great nurse. But the truth is the truth. What Faculty leadership did to not just me but to several other students during the two years was wrong. We all suffered an unjust amount of anguish and mental abuse. Rights were violated and students were affected. There are some serious wrinkles that leadership needs to correct. Possibly they have been working on these issues. I hope so for all future students. The question was asked if anyone attending the Nscc nursing program had feedback. It appears as if at least two of us have been willing to share our experience. And you reported to this website that who ever made the other comment was wrong in expressing opinions? Nscc will someday get it right because there is a need for nurses so relax about these disturbing posts.....but for now Nscc nursing school cannot be a recommendation from me and obviously not recommended by whoever posted the other comment.
