MUSC DNP Fall 2017

Nursing Students School Programs

Anyone here applied to MUSC Fall DNP program for their FNP track? I'm anxiously awaiting their decision and would help to find somebody going through the same nail biting process.

I feel your pain, did you apply to any other programs, I applied to George Washington, they extended their deadline 'till April 14, so I'll have to wait even longer for them. MUSC is my first choice. Hopefully by the end of the week, we'll all hear some good news.

I've gotten my acceptance from George Washington and I'm still waiting on MUSC and UAB. I live closest to MUSC and am leaning towards that right now. But I just don't know. I just want to be able to make the right decision and want to know if I got in.

Nope haha, I decided to be super bold and only apply one place. We do have a college in my home town that just started a Masters/NP program but they require you visit campus a lot and I just don't have time for that. Are the other programs you applied for primarily online? The process of applying for any program these days (the fees and the requirements) are so outrageous that after I got everything in one place I could not even consider trying to do it for somewhere else. There are some programs that start in the spring and I guess I could always start applying to some of those places, but I guess I will wait and see what happens here first.

Yeah, all of the programs I applied to are online. I really need online because I work full time, have a second job, and a toddler. I'm still trying to figure out how I'm going to make all of this work. I'm just seriously hoping that this program is easier than my actual nursing degree. Although, I've been told many times that the original nursing degree is the hardest.

I work full time too, my kids are older but still at home (bigger problems). I may have to cut back, but really can't afford to. There is another allnurses thread from a 2016 DNP group, I left a message about juggling the program, life, work etc., no one has responded, It would be comforting that others in our situation are managing it ok.

Anyone willing to brave it and call them today?

Haha, I've thought about it a few times but I think they hate me already. That girl scared me last week

I'll try to call them today since I haven't called them in a while. I'll let you guys know what they said.

SCRN060586 did you have to interview for UAB?

Thank you! They're killing me over here

Okay, so I was told letters are going to be mailed out at the end of this week. Ahhhh! The decisions have been made and now they are going through the final transcript audits.

She was actually very pleasant, maybe I got a nice administrative assistant. She told me they will be accepting about 100 applicants this year to the DNP program and had over 300 applications. And they are only accepting a small amount of MSN applicants this year.

Another week guys!

Woof! Another week? Gosh, this has been terrible as far as a waiting game í ½í¹ Every week it's another week! I hope they actually go out the end of this week but at least decisions are made. Wow, 300 applicants and they're accepting only around 100! That's scary, but I guess that's still a pretty good chance. Has anyone gotten any emails from the school about financial aid or anything like that?

Yeah I got the financial aid email about two weeks or so after I applied. I think they send that to all the applicants.
