Howdy,

This is a thread for anyone who is applying to the MSMC ABSN program for summer 2015 admission, or anyone who has first hand knowledge of the program.

I'm an out-of-towner who has applied to the program and will be moving to the Los Angeles area from Texas in a couple months. I'm so excited! I heard they will be starting interviews soon and am praying that I get one. I have applied to a couple other schools but I am really hoping to get in the program at the Mount.

I wanted to get some advice on the admissions process: how long will it take before we know if we've been accepted, is there anything I should know that would benefit me during the process, how difficult is the pre-entry math exam, etc. I am hoping to connect with other applicants and use this as a forum to support each other.

I will also be new to the city and could use some friends :) Good luck to all applicants and I can't wait (hopefully) to be a MSMC student!!!

Hey! I received an email to take the math exam on Dec 2 and took the exam on Dec 8. The practice exam is very similar to the actual exam, but there were one or two questions on the actual exam that caught me off guard. It looks like they are trying to have all admission decisions made by the end of January.

I also received an email on Dec 3 to take the math test and took it on the 8th as well! Just like emh2150 said it was pretty similar to the practice test but definitely a few that were challenging. I believe she said we would hear about our test scores by the 22nd or sometime around then at the latest.

Sounds like you both did great! I am nervous for this math exam! Do you happen recall the type of questions that thew you off guard?

I got the same email about interviews too. I wonder how many people received interviews. I took my math test on the 10th and about 20 people where there. How many people were there on the 8th?

Only about 5 or 6 were there on the 8th. Had my interview today, the faculty member was very nice and made me feel very comfortable. Was told I should know by mid january-end of january! Good luck on your interviews!

aww January is such a long wait. I read the older posts and they all got decisions a few days after their interviews. But their interviews were all in January, I was surprised ours are in Dec. I was hoping we could find out before Christmas....aww

Yeah they are definitely doing things differently this year. I applied last year but because I was missing an english course I was denied and didn't find out i was denied till the 19th of December and the rest didn't find out about interviews till mid January! But who knows, they told me I wouldn't hear about interviews after the math test on the 8th till the 20th or so and found out three days later. They are very unpredictable! The waiting game is the absolute worst!

Hey everyone! Just want to say a friendly hello to all my fellow applicants :) I was at the math test on the 11th and there were no more than 20 of us there. I am a second time applicant as well so I will not be interviewing again but I wish the best of luck to everyone! I have a good feeling for this time around :)
