Hey everyone, just wondering if anyone plans on applying for the Fall 2015 ADN program at MCC in Waco?

I am! Im studying for my hesis right now.

A.manche,

I'm applying for the Fall 2015 ADN program at MCC! I've taken my HESI and have taken all of my pre-reqs, I have one co-req left which is Microbiology  but as soon as the grades are processed I'm going to be turning in my application. I'm pretty excited, I hear that they let a lot of people in and that it is a really good program. The hardest part is the wait, I feel like the closer the application deadline gets the slower time goes.

But anyways, How is everything going for you? Have you taken your HESI yet?

I have all the pre and co's. SO they let a lot of people in ?? and I'm getting all my app stuff together. I took the hesis at another college for the first time and it was a little more challenging than I thought it was going to be I made a 82. Thankfully Im taking it again so hopefully this time I can raise my score. Im really worried about my co gpa ! I dont really know what the average is for that one.

*acceptabe/competive gpa for that one

Yeah I went to an information session a few months ago and they said the last time 80 people applied and 70 were accepted. But that was for the September deadline. I think there's going to be more people applying in May but still she said if you have enough points you should be good. Thankfully the majority of the points come from your pre-reqs and the HESI, so if you did good on those you should be solid. But That's awesome that you get to Re-take the HESI, they let you use a calculator on the math here, it was really easy and if you use that study guide they sell in the Bookstore you're going to knock it out the park.

Im so scared. I have 42 points without the Hesi if I looked at the instructions right. I really hope with my new hesi score I can get more points. How many do you have ?? If you dont mind me asking. Im really scared of what the applicant pool will look like. The last college I applied to only accepts about 60 out of over 200 applicants I think :/

How was the Hesi for you ?Were there lots of word problems and conversions?

Don't be scared, You're definitely going to get in!!! They told me the people they accept have around 40-47 points

I have 42 points as well without the HESI. But I'm still re-taking the HESI just to be on the safe side so I can get those extra points.

They only give you points for the HESI reading which is what got me. I made a 96 on the math, an 84 on the reading and 870 on the critical thinking portion. I'm re-taking it on April 28th to try to boost my reading score so I can get those bonus points.

There were a lot of conversions, but it was mostly basic math. Definitely get the study guide from the bookstore to brush up. Learn military time as well if you don't already know it.

What was the last school you applied to? That sounds like it was a really intense situation.

That's awsome good job !:) Wait there's critical thinking ?

I got a study guide but there's nothing about critical thinking on it . I didn't know we had to have that, or even what that is ....

Oh! And it was Temple College! Idk why it's so competitive there .
