Hey! Just wondering if anyone else is attending the FTL Keiser campus for this program?

I just went through the interview and application process. They were great at explaining everything, and very thorough. I will be transferring most of my pre-reqs. I only have to re-take Chemistry (got a C), Microbiology (got a C in the lab/ B in the lecture), and MAC 1105. I will be taking these now, and then moving onto the actual clinical/foundation portion in January. I think it is a fairly new program, but your BSN in 16months was something I couldn't pass up! The director told me it will be crazy, but I am so ready!

Hey, congratulations can you give me some insight into this program, I am at South University and am looking into this program. What entrance exam did you have to take? What scores did they want you to have on said entrance exam? Why are you retaking MAC1105? I am taking my last 5 classes Micro and the lab ,Statistics, Lit and Pathophysiology.

Hi NurseCMY!

I was wondering if you can give any insight on how the program is and how hard it is for the 16 months. Did you work during the program? Were you given tests every few days? How were clinicals, and did you get to pick your hospital? I would really like to know, for I am applying for May 2019, but I want to know if I am making the right decision. Any info would help!

It was pretty nuts! You can't work and if you do manage to it's maybe like 1-2 days a week. (And you're dying because you're exhausted) Quizzes and Exams every week, as well as skills check offs throughout. The clinical are chosen for you with times and dates. Mine were all day time Friday, Saturday, Monday. Starts with One clinical a week and moves to two in the later semesters. We get clinical assignments and a patient or patients were directly assigned care for. I recommend it because now I've graudated it's my BSN, but there was a lot of issues with how the school is set up. I honestly recommend it, but make sure financially you can afford it. You need a strong support system because it is rough. Professor qualit varies, I had a handful of amazing Professor, and the rest kind of just got by. Good Luck!

Are the professors helpful with one on one meet ups, and do they provide powerpoints, or must you study straight from the book and teach yourself? And how were the class days? My advisor is saying the classes are one per month, and you go to class from 8am-6pm. Is this true or was it a different set up for you?

Professor are super helpful. Lots of power points and study guides outline before exams that you help you focus on study areas. In terms of classes, my first semester was 16weeks with 6 classes which staggered so some started/ended before others and 1 clinical day. Second is 4 classes 2 clinical days. Third is 3 classes 2 clinical days which switch between OB and PEDS. Last 3 classes 2 clinical days. It is do-able but very intensive. They use ATI testing with proctured exams and dosage calculation exams.

Thank you for all the info!! I'm sorry for bombarding you with so many questions, it's just that you're the only person on here who has any insight on this program. Can I ask what GPA and grades you had for the sciences to get accepted? I currently have an overall 3.0, and a 3.4 for the prereqs. I retook my anatomy classes already and got As/Bs, but I still have to retake microbiology which I too got a C in the lecture and B in the lab. I'm just afraid that I am going through all of this work for nothing if they're going to be super selective. My admissions advisor really likes me, and I'm assuming the dean has to look at our files before deciding if we are even candidates for the FBSN program, so I'm hoping that's a good sign.

It was mostly how hungry you were. I had a decent gpa 3.0 I think? My sciences were As except for chemistry And microbiology lab which I got a C. I think just work hard and you can do it! I also suggest go with whatever program accepts you and has an earlier start date so you can get out there!

Met with an admissions counselor today about this program. He mentioned that after applying, you are scheduled to meet with a financial advisor to help get you as much aid as possible. Is this true? And if so, were you able to obtain any aid?

I got the max aid. I graduated and passed the nclex. I paid out of pocket for awhile, bought/rented my own books just to save money. Some of the books you use throughout the program and are worth buying. I can say I have a loooot in debt to pay off like 30k in loans. It's a rigorous program, literally hell, but depending on your instructors it can go really well. Study hard, don't slack, and try to keep up with self care.
