Students School Programs

Published

Good luck to everyone who applied! I wanted to start a thread for all of us waiting to hear back. I applied to Grossmont and I know I'm nervous so I thought we can all be nervous together! Also, I thought we could share how many points we think we got and other school we might have applied to. Well, I'm pretty sure we have until April before we find out so until then I'll be patiently waiting. Love to hear from ya' all!

Hello! I have about 86 points. I just applied on Friday and I'm already nervous. I wish thy didn't take so long to get back to us í ½í¸«

I'm nervous too! I calculated around 80 that's if I get all the points for working, volunteer etc.

I think you'll be fine 86 points is a lot!

I just want everything to go well! I keep thinking "what if I don't get in because they lost one of papers" or things like that! I think you'll be good too. From reading past forums it seems as if you have points 80 and up you'll get in!

What categories are you getting your points in?

Yeah, I understand the stress of the "what ifs".

I have an associates degree, EMT certification, volunteer hours, working during prerequisite, I'm a single mom so hardship and first to attend college.

Good luck everyone! I applied to the spring 2017 cohort and didn't get in..but I'm applying again for fall 2017! I was accepted to San Diego City College for Fall 2017, but Grossmont is my first choice!

Awesome EmilyMichelle! Well I hope you get in this time around.

I was going to apply to City as well but didn't realize they only took application in December. So I missed it. Grossmont is my first choice as well. I already got a degree at Grossmont, so I feel comfortable there.

Do you mind me asking how many points you had and what your Teas score was?

Hello! EmilyMichelle Congrats!!(: I only applied to Grossmont, I took my prerequisites there and I just love the teachers and campus. Why do you prefer Grossmont over City? Do you have more points then you did when you applied for spring 2017?

I get points for associates, CNA, work experience, BOGW. Then I have a 3.6 in science and 4.0 in general ed classes. I got a 92% on the TEAS.

Those are awesome scores. Yeah I'll have 8 more points this time around. I have points for AA, CNA, work experience, and then 5 out of 5 for the supplemental things (bog, working while completing prerequisites etc.) I got an 80 on the teas and have A,A,B For sciences and then 3 As and 2 Bs for the fixed set.

I had started a thread for the spring 2017 cohort and I think some people got in with points in the mid 70s

That's awesome! You'll get it! I didn't do as good on my TEAS test. My proctor wrote down that there was 36 questions in the reading section so I accounted my time accordingly. (She was super unorganized made me change my computer seat 4 times because they were not working.) Well there was 53 questions so I had to guess on the rest. I only got a 74.3. I did so good on all the other sections. That low reading score killed me. I called the ATI but what are they going to do got me ya know?! I calculated 80 points for myself. That's is I get all the extras. Fingers crossed!

Thanks for sharing!

I don't know anyone who went to city college and I've heard awesome things about Grossmont. Which is why Grossmont is my first choice, although now that I've been accepted to city I've head good things too. Really ill be happy with either!!
