Hello! I will be submitting my application this friday for spring 19 cohort.

How wonderful! Thank you for answering! I was afraid I wouldn't get a response. Have you taken all of your pre-requisites and the HESI yet? :)

i have everything completed except for stat which im taking now. i got an 81 on the hesi so im retaking it. i would like to score in the 90s. what about you? im so nervous.

my stats.

81 hesi

science gpa 3.75

overall gpa 3.7

no experience working in healthcare but i just completed a cna class and im military if that counts for anything.

Not to worry at all! Your stats actually look a lot better in comparison to mine. Unfortunately I haven't taken my HESI yet, I'm set for August 4th. I've been studying like crazy simply because my GPA is a 3.22 not including the courses I have yet to take and retake. I have a 2.0 on my science GPA, I have yet to update my grades with the advisor. I just want to try my hardest to raise my GPA up because I don't feel confident about that, but you're doing very well! You have no need to worry at all. When do you wish to retake your HESI? :)

im going to retake the test in june. its actually not that bad. it ask basic questions. i think if i dedicated more time to studying i could have scored in the 90s. have you taken all of the science courses already? im sure you will be fine. they look at three three areas for the application not just the gpa :)

Really? Oh how great! I have heard various things about the Anatomy section on the exam, one being it was very detailed and asks such difficult questions, I suppose I'll study what I can in this given time. But I bet you'll do fine! Actually, I have, But I wish to retake Anatomy as I received a C in both. I bit off more than I could chew and took most of my science courses in a semester in attempt to apply for program for the Spring and it was a huge mistake. I received B's for Microbiology and Chemistry but C's for Anatomy which is very embarrassing to say the least. ☹️ How much patient experience do you have, if you do not mind me asking? :)

dont be embarrased. anatomy is a tough subject. the only patient experience i have if from the cna course i took a few weeks ago. what about you?

Oh indeed so! I just hope I can make it up on the HESI and to when I retake them both. Oh yes that's right! That's going to look great! I can imagine how difficult that may be. I currently volunteer at Las Palmas and have also volunteered at Providence East campus previously. It's pretty strange how they ask for patient experience, yet, we cannot really do much as volunteers, let alone touch a patient. Are you going to be attending the application workshop?

thats what i thought. i did one day of volunteering at umc then stopped becuase it took too much time. I also felt like i wasnt getting any experience by sitting in the office shredding paper or stocking supplies. i guess it gets you to see how the hospital setting is though idk. Yes i will be attending the workshop. :)

I know it's so frustrating, Great! I'll see you there then! :)
