Hi, has anybody taken ethics through portage learning? I was wondering what it entailed are there multiple choice questions for tests writing papers.

Hello, I just came across portage learning and have to take ethics as well. Did you end up taking the class and if so would you mind telling me your experience with the course and how it was structured please?

I ended up taking Ethics through my school online. It was much easier. I took statistics through Portage and found it very tough. Good luck!

How was it? Lots of written questions plus essay? How was the paper? How soon do you get your final grade?

I found it to be manageable considering you go at your own pace. It's writing intensive and set up with 8 Modules. So there is alot of writing with different reflections every week and as the modules increased the amount of reflections per module had increased as well. The class honestly makes you think since they want your genuine view in a diplomatic way for certain issues. As the modules went up in number, I found that it got a little bit harder where I couldn't go off of some historical ethical standpoint, but rather what I thought about an issue and how to go about it. It was especially a bit difficult for me because I was pushing it to finish the course in less than two months. There was one final essay, and I know that we had "test" where in some modules we just had to sign our name stating that we finished the module, but for one test there was an actual exam with matching and a written portion that was timed and then I think there was one more actual exam after that one that was timed too. I don't know if they change teachers, but the one that I had was very quick to give comments and grade. For example, if I wrote a response Monday at 1:00 a.m. I would find that I got a grade a vast majority of the time by sometime in the afternoon or at night. Very rarely did I have to wait till next day to find out a grade. The final paper I found it to be fair 5 questions were asked and I responded to them with a paragraph each and conclusion. The final grade came pretty quickly. I did not time it, but I would say it was less than a week, a couple days at most before I got my final grade. It was worth it in the end I thought, got to finish it quickly instead of waiting a whole semester. Hope this helps.

i am on the first lesson and the journal entry seems so open ended. was the professor very tough grading?

Honestly I cannot remember it was a long time. I personally did not take ethics thru Portage. I only took Stats and Chemistry which the Chemistry teacher was a very tough grader.
