Is 28 too late? The transition from admin to clincal

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

I'm 28 years old and work FT,I've been working on the medical billing side for almost 5 years and miss the personal interaction with people I got my associates in medical assisting. Now i really think i wanna go into the nursing field though it does seem challenging (cause i cant stomach blood well :-/)I know it could be an awesome experience and I enjoy helping people as well!

Because I have no clinical experience other than my Medical Assitant Associate degree which I got in 2008 (just degree no liscense or anything) do you think it will be hard for me to get accepted into Nursing school. Also I live near Philadelphia and theres alot of schools nearby like Temple University, Penn State ,UPenn, etc anybody know which ones offer the best nursing programs ?! Or if I should start off as an RN in a community college and work my way up since I am trying not to take out anymore LOANS smh

My boyfriend has really been pushing me to not give up so easily on school and I believe nursing could be "THE ONE" hoping i can get some advice from those who are already experience in the field ANY FEEDBACK IS APPRECIATED!

Here are my main questions below(sorry for my lengthy message lol by the way):

1.What Schools offer the best nursing programs in philadelphia?

2.What Scholarships can I apply for?

3.I work Full-Time how many years do you think it would take for me to actually become an RN-BSN?

4.Is it too late at 28 :?

It's never too late.
