Sounds like your bitter that it wasn't easy for you to find a job? And blaming WCU grads because your resume isn't impressive? Their program has all the accreditations and certifications your school has. I'm sure the accreditation boards are much better at standardizing the EDUCATION of the programs. And for you to say it's easy when you haven't even attended the school is laughable. Funny thing. My previous dentist graduated from USC. but I had to change dentists because he was HORRIBLE. A couple botched root canals. USC Is a pretty prestigious school. I'm suprised this guy could screw me up, not once but twice. And he graduated from USC? I think it depends more on the PERSON. Like I said we all pass the SAME test. Your education and my education , while maybe not exactly the same, we both have the drive and passion do make this commitment. What you do AFTER nursing school is what defines you as a nurse. Not anything before.

Yeah the BSN I'm earning is recognized by all the big schools if I go back for a masters or for NA or NP. I don't understand why you are so mad Matthew. In my area if you look at RN positions open at hospitals in my area, there are hundred of open positions. My area needs more nurses. Yes I will graduate, but thanks for you encouragement lol. Eh. I can be working side by side next to you and it wouldn't even matter. We learned the same things and have the same skills and passed the same test. Doesn't matter if I paid a million dollars for it, what we have is the same. A BSN. And no I don't plan on staying a nurse forever. But the BSN I earn here will carry thru the rest of my career. Yea we live in different areas lol. Long beach is extremely populated city with several hospitals in a 10 mile radius from our community college and cal state long beach campus. The struggle is real. I attended the info session and those were the exact figures they told me. That and for the roughly 60-80 spots open there are thousands if applications. But hey if u got the time and patience wait around, I simply have ran out of both.

Just because they get admitted into the program doesn't mean they will make it thru. I've already seen people quit trying to do pre reqs You have to pass an entrance exam as well. You don't think people with bad grades get into nursing programs at CC and cal states?? The way it goes here 25% of people get picked from 2.0-2.9 gpa Another 25% for 3.0-3.9 gpa And the last 50% for 4.0 gpa

Do you guys think you just pay money and instantly pass your classes? That's funny. The classes are not easy and they are accelerated. It's hard work to keep your grades up. You earn your degree the whole way thru the program. Sure it's expensive, but we learn the same material you learn and pass the same test, except It takes a shorter amount of time. I don't really feel like waiting any longer for a lottery system to maybe get into a program, even with 4.0. I would rather pay a little extra to get done with school sooner. I calculated it all out and it's do able for me. So I went for it. Will it be doable for you? Idk you gotta figure that out in your own. And Fannie Mae are crooks but you can get cheaper loans elsewhere it's pretty simple. Just need to research.

If you have a 4.0 you have a 50/50 chance. It's a lottery system.

A house for 130k? This is California. Los Angeles or Orange County to be specific. Homes here that cost 130k are run down bank out flop houses. Real houses out here cost upwards of 800k. Sure, it's expensive. There are a lot of tools you can use to find out how much you are paying on the loan. If you can't come to the terms that you will have a loan payment when you graduate then don't do it. Fact of the matter is, for someone not willing to move out of state for school, not wait for 6+ years to get into the BSN programs here, it's worth it. The money you will make in the 3 years after you graduate will already pay for more than half that. If you go the other route? You have to wait 6 or more years JUST TO GET IN the program. Then you have to go thru the program. That's about 8-9 years. Compared to WCU 3 years. Think about it. Don't let these people tell you that you can have the same education for a fraction of the cost. Loool I bet the associates you guys are earning at community college will eat you less money than my overpriced BSN. Everyone I've spoken to that has graduated from my campus got hired shortly after passing the NCLEX and are making top dollar earning 80k+. So let's say you only make 60k right out of the gate, the loan could be payed for in about 4 years if you calculate using the tools I mentioned earlier. That means by the time it takes you to get your degree and start working if you went the less expensive route, a WCU grad would already have 3-4 years of experience, and a paid off loan. Don't see the price tag and go blind. Nursing is an evidence based practice. Do some research and find some evidence and come up with your own conclusions. If you can't do that on your own then you won't pass any nursing classes so don't even worry about it.

Yeah the cost is high but either you can pay a little more and finish in around 3 years or you can pay a third of that and take 3 times as long at a community college (and only get an associates)
