2016 Wagner 15 month Second Degree Bachelor's Program...Application Process

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi All!

I know this is super early to start this thread, but I wanted to make a space where people looking to begin the Wagner program in 2016 can talk and share ideas about the application process.

I am currently taking my prerequisite classes at the College of Staten Island. I will be finishing them in May 2016, but I plan on beginning my application as soon as possible.

My BA is in Psychology from Saint Francis College and I am also a licensed massage therapist.

What about everyone else?

Hi Marin ,I'm Dorina im in the same path as you trying to get to Wagner for the 15 month program fall 2016 ; live in SI and I also go to CSI finished bio and trying now to take microbio 350 and I guess prepare myself also for Teas .

Hi! I'm Stephanie. I have a BS and applied for Fall 2016 accelerated program. Does anyone know the timeline of when we hear about acceptance?

I just applied to Wagner and I spoke to the admission guy and he said he is still accepting applications. He also said you should get accepted within 2-3 weeks after you hand in all your papers.

One thing is that you have to complete ONE year at Wagner and then u can get into the two year program.

Hey,

I'm Rich. I submitted my application for the accelerated nursing program for the fall of 2016. I recently got an email for an interview. I have my interview next week, along with taking my TEAS V exam next week too.

Fingers crossed. Anyone else in a similar boat?

Same here ... Just got me email about the interview and TEAS V EXAM ... So hopefully ... Does anyone know what hospitals Wagner is mostly affiliated with for clinical ?

I don't know about what hospitals they do rotations at. I believe the first rotation is at a nursing home on Staten Island. I will try to find out more.

I took the TEAS V, which I thought was fair and had my interview this week. The interview went well. It was not anything very intense. Just be yourself and explain why you want to be a nurse and why Wagner.

Hoping to hear back in a few weeks.

Thanks so much for info ... Can you please give few more insides on the TEAS V exam ??? Anything in particular , what was the most stumbling ?

Aby help means world , thanks

The TEAS V was 4 sections and took my about an hour and 40 minutes to complete. The reading section was a lot of just read the passage and answer questions, or here is a series of instructions to follow, what is the result. The math I thought was very straight forward, just a lot of order of operations and percentages and using fractions. The science was the toughest part, just because it covers the widest amount of material. If you have time I feel a study book would not be bad. If you are crunched for time, like I was, I would just review the basics of earth science, chem, A&P, and biology. It's nothing too difficult just a lot of material. Online practice questions were also very helpful just to know what kinds of questions they will ask.

So yeh , I need all the tips I can possible get ... So tanks again for the insede ... Really helps a lot

hi guys! i applied online 4 days ago however didn't receive any emails yet. when should i send them my transcripts and evaluation diploma? I applied for Fall 2016.

Does anybody know about getting students loans? where doigo and ask? thanks)

Hope we all get accepted for fall 2016)

Honestly, I would send everything you can ASAP. I know the priority deadline was February so I assume they will sort through those applications first. I got everything in by then and I already had an interview and I am just awaiting an admissions decision.

As far as loans go, I don't really know. I assume FAFSA would be a great place to start and to ask the Financial Aid office if we get accepted. I know I will need loans if I get in so I will let everyone know if I hear anything.
