I amcurious what other nurses practice related to gowning and gloving for theadministration and handling of chemotherapy. Here's what I'd like to know as Iam helping to revise our Chemotherapy administration policy:

1- Do you use single or double gloves when administering chemo

2- Do you wear a gown when administering chemo

3- Where do you work and are you in an inpt or out pt setting

We are struggling at our facility with whether or not we follow the positionpaper that ONS recently put out r/t the use of double gloves and gowns as itseems like what is recommended by ONS and what is actually happening practicedin the real world is different. Your thoughts/feedback are appreciated!

Hi I work in the UK and I am at a large principle treatment centre. It is an inpatient unit with a high dependency area for BMT patients. To give chemo we wear goggles, armlets, single gloves and an apron. This practice is pretty standard in the UK.
