RFPD 110: Fashion and Culture

I am taking the Fashion and Culture class now. I guess its not too bad...a DB post, response, and assignment (most 2-4 pgs) due each week. Exams are proctored ;( Just took my midterm today and it was way harder than expected...no study guide given...no notes or books allowed. Our only advice was...STUDY IT ALL! On a more positive note, i finished the test in roughly a half hour-45 mins, although we had 2.5 hours to complete. Definitely dont need all that time...its more of "you either know it or you dont." I must be a pretty good guesser...finished with an 85%...guessed on at least half the questions...EEEEKk!!

For those of you that still need stats, I took it elsewhere. It was a go at your own pace class - you can take up to 14 weeks, or get it done as fast as you want. I completed the entire course in less than a month. I had never had stats before at all, and I actually understood most of it - and ended the class with a 96% - no curve. If you want info - pm me.
I also took my extra basket weaving classes as intercessions - 10 days each class, for 3 credits. EASY PEASEY! They have a spring intercession coming up if you want info on that school as well. I took my humanities, sociology, and fine arts there! They also had nutrition and a few others.

call me a dummy, intersessions? what is that? and where did you take statistics?

From what I understand we have to maintain a B- in the nursing classes (80-82%) and a C (73-76%) in the non-nursing classes.

This Fashion class is my first blackboard class. I'm very disappointed with the lack of communication from the TAs. I got the grade back on my first assignment with no feedback/reason for grade. Is this typical of the blackboard classes?

my 1st class also. I have the same frustrations. I actually HATE this class because of the the lack of communication not the content.

I agree. This has been the worst class I have taken so far. It's more like a cultural diversity class than a fashion class.

Yuck...they gave it that attractive course title to intrigue the female nursing students. Bleh! I'm taking cultural anthropology elsewhere. Good luck with that not-so-fashionable course! :jester:
