Anyone have any grades from week 1 DB yet? :(

Have you emailed your TA? I've had everything graded that I've submitted for weeks 1 and 2.

Interesting - three weeks to get back the grades from Week 1...too late to make corrections for the DB entries for Week 3 from what was noted for lost points in week 1. Students are giving patience to the TAs for the late grading....it would be nice if they took that into account in their grades for Week 3. This is a 5 week course - grades for week 1 back in this morning ....when it was told in the syllabus that it would be back within 78 hours. Fine. Just give students the same patience/tolerance in grading for week 3 since we are not able to see how the grading worked for week 1 till now. What do you others think?

My TA got grades back quickly, but I agree with you about getting them back in a more timely manner. It isn't so much the grades as the feedback. As you said, using the TA comments to amend mistakes is the learning process as much as reading journal articles. In a 15 week course, this would be the same as not getting instructor feedback until week 7. That just does not seem to be in the best interest of learning.

2 responses to 2 DB's this week is taking forever. How long do you usually take to complete a DB response. It took me about 3 hours to do the 4 responses. Am I just being slow?? Any tips for making it easier and quicker?

Wow. Sorry 2yearrnba that you have to deal with that. I have heard other student have had to deal with the same thing in other classes. I would be frustrated too. Has your TA given you any explanation? I hope you get grades soon. Hang in there!

cincinursemary No. It takes me a while too. I know we are all different, but starting is the hard part for me. Look at the bright side...we will be done in two weeks! We can do it! :)

Thank you for your sympathy - sometimes just having someone agree with you - makes it all easier to bear - right now I am hoping that this builds character etc. etc.

cincinmary - its takes me hours - hours hours. For 5 weeks - I buy processed food, I take PTO, I gain about 3-5 lbs, I sleep fitfully and poorly. If I wasn't so sure that flunking the class is just a paper away, what I mean is flunking is a b minus and it is just a hair away from an A. I try for "A" knowing that with the grading system this time - I can never be sure how close to flunking I am. I actually read the material...and I agonize over the papers and the responses. A tip that I use is to search for the DB entries that kind of interest me - then I go to ALICE and then search out the issues. For example, if the assignment says its about "leadership" then I search ALICE for leadership, and add something from DB entry I am interested in. It works for me. My responses I can do much much much faster than the paper .

Thanks Chicahearts - yes the TA gave the explanantion - so we can be patient with that - I would love it if they return the patience to us - when they grade our later DB and paper, and we still haven't gotten the feedback to correct it in the current papers/DB. Ah well. This is Ohio University. SOme times the classes are organized and they don't change the assignment in the middle of the week - that makes me very very happy. So - I wonder if all online RN to BSN systems are like this.

Week 4... does anyone else think the reading assignment goes with the case study assignment? I could be wrong but I don't get it. The case study asks a bunch of questions that are covered in a different chapter.

Mary, I noticed the same thing. I also have no idea how I am going to write 2-3 paragraphs on each question. Some of them could be answered in a sentence. Ugh! :(
